One of the best strikes I've seen in a very long time. There was no way ANY keeper was moving for that! It was like a storm shadow bomb! A real knuckle ball hit! Prime Ronaldo type stuff. Great to see it hit the bar!
I was almost in line with the goal posts yesterday. Didn’t realise until I watched the highlights that the West Brom scored in the dead centre of the goal. Until then I thought he was playing well (apart from his kicking).
Couldn’t stop the goal, which was their only shot on target, but I thought he had a good game otherwise, dealt with their crosses well
Bizarre moment near the end though where he misjudged a ball rolling slowly across the 6yd box and very nearly did his usual act of teeing it up nicely by parrying to the nearest opposition attacker.
Bachmann's stats for the season so far. Underperforming in every metric. Said it before, Bond and Bachmann fit and in form, Bachmann shades it but currently Bachmann is out of sorts and making the wrong decisions too often
Shot-stopping is the only good thing about his game, that’s not been there of late so we’re left with a very poor goalie for this level
Unfortunately the goalkeeper is not good enough ,doesn't move off his goal line and can't kick, never good traits
He's a fundamentally **** goalkeeper and always has been, yet a huge portion of our idiot fanbase continue to defend him. Bloke is abysmal.
Fully agree, although sentiment seems to be shifting on the fanbase front - I feel more and more are identifying him for the poor goalkeeper that he is, that we inexplicably tied down to a FIVE year contract.
Really confuses me how anyone can, with a straight face, defend him at this point. A truly woeful goalkeeper and the sooner we get shot the better.
He’s a bottom half champ keeper and we have a bottom half champ squad. Yes it would be great to have a better keeper, better WBs, a more mobile midfield, better strikers. We have very limited funds, which position is the priority or do we sign 6 free transfers to cover all the deficiencies?
I am trying to erase it from my memory but when he did come off his line the only time in the match ,his decision to punch instead of catch ,there lad skied it over the bar Unbelievable Jeff ,just Unbelievable
I'd argue he's regressed to being a bottom 6 goalkeeper since Mid-November which I didn't see coming. I agree that typically he's hovered around mid-table quality but every game recently it's like he's not saving anything (Some of which isn't his fault in fairness) but he brings such little authority and calm it transmits to the fans and inevtiably the team.
I’d argue he is worse than that and actively negatively impacts on our defenders. For all their faults, imagine being Porteous when a cross is dinking gently to the 5 yard line. Every keeper you have played with claims it or attempts to, but you know Bachman will be probably standing behind his goal line. Same thing on corners that arrow into the 6 yard box. Mentally that must cause a lot of uncertainty when you are going about your own decision making!
I've made my feelings about Bachmann very clear but I don't wish any suffering on him. Looks like a bad achilles injury to me, hope he's on the mend soon so we can sell him.
Bachman has a habit of getting ‘injured’ or sent off when things are looking particularly bad for him He knows his time is up, hopefully the last we see of him
I’d love you to be right but he’ll be stinking the place out for a few more years after we gave him that ridiculous 5 year deal….
One of those situations where the player’s health and wellbeing has to come first. Hopefully he’s not rushed back before he is ready and, if necessary, is allowed to retire immediately.
Official quote is less clear cut from Cleverley. "It looks like it could be ankle ligaments but we're trying to rule out achilles tendon and dislocated ankle, but it looks fairly serious."
