Would have him for first choice option on the left as the squad currently stands. Better technique than Sema and works very hard defensively.
Certainly agree. I think Sarr + 2 from Pedro, Cucho, Dennis, King should be our front 3. Can't be dealing with Troy, Sema or Fletcher starting.
The only 2 certainties, hopefully are King and Sarr (if he stays). We are just hoping one of the others can fill in at prem level.
Exactly. King's going to die in a freak yachting accident and Sarr's going to be put in prison for masterminding a massive tax scam.
To be fair, the last time we got promoted we were hoping Deeney and Ighalo could make the step up, which they did luckily. I think most promoted teams have to hope their players can make the step up, unless you sign a brand new eleven of PL players. I'm confident Pedro and Cucho will adapt and Dennis seems like he could at least cause problems with his pace. Fletch is already a PL player so no concerns there.
Yes hopefully. As you say the danger is that we rely too much on Fletch. Hopefully the weight of expectation isn't too great on his young shoulders and he stays injury free.
Based on no evidence whatsoever, I propose a front 3 of Dennis King Sarr with JP off the bench They’re going to get a hat full of goals, and not a small hat either, but one of those giant foam cowboy hats
It's what we were all calling for a year or two ago! I for one would be happy to give him a chance, although with such a crowded pool of forwards, I'm not quite sure where he fits in; I get the feeling our 'first choice' front line when everyone is around will be Dennis-King-Sarr
I hope you're right but I don't think he's achieved enough in Spain to suggest he has enough to be anything other than a bit part player this season. If he had looked great in Spain, he'd be in demand and have been sold.
Quite possibly. My opinion admittedly is based on very little - I can’t even really explain what I mean, but he just looks built for English football. I think if he’s given an opportunity, he might not look back.
Tbf, he's had three seasons for relegation threatened teams in Spain, and it's only really last season for Getafe where I'd say he was a bit disappointing. I do think he's suited to English football too, so hopefully if he does play regularly for us, he'll be able to contribute!
He’s sat next to Sarr in the dressing room section exclusively for players who’ll be sold before the season starts.
It was relevant experience for Plan A which was to sell him for £20m+ to one of the big 3 in Spain. This is Plan B.....
If the window slams shut and we have managed to fend off all offers, then it will have been a great summer.
Can't wait for him to score a hattrick on his full debut, then when he's about to be interviewed, be like 'I'll be honest lads, I never thought I'd actually play for this club, sorry, I never bothered learning English!'
He seems to actually want to be here, which is a nice change. Spanish coaches will be invaluable. I think Penaranda liked it here too but he acts like a teenager on Bacardi Breezers.
With that in mind, I would imagine the club would have put a ridiculous buy out clause on him , probably running into the hundreds maybe even thousands.
Really encouraged by his performance today. Skilful, pacy and yet also looks quite tough. I will be livid if we sell him before the season, as he should be the Deulofeu replacement we desperately need.
Is there actually any indication that we are looking to sell him? Reports that we're wanting to buy before we sell any in the forward areas anyway
Cucho has been my avatar on the Watford subreddit since he was signed/avatars were introduced there, so my meme-stocks could somewhat unexpectedly really end up maturing nicely - you've got to speculate to accumulate, after all, and Cucho ever taking the field for us was certainly a bold speculation, if I do say so myself.
No it's just some peoples' hobby to post that we're going to sell anyone that has promise. Similar to posting that so-and-so will never play for us when signed. Sometimes of course these posts are correct, but regardless, they are mostly for winding up purposes.
