The Evergrande situation is mental. How do you get into $300B debt? I just don't see a situation where that company survives and it will affect every market. Default tomorrow and there's a 30 day stay of execution before the inevitable.

Staying out of the game until the dust settles. A crash would see BTC heading towards the strong support level of $35k.

Hope I'm wrong but not going to wait for the Asian markets to open to find out!

Seems weird that the Evergrande situation is touching crypto; there's no obvious link between the two. But the crypto community is so ridiculously skittish that I probably shouldn't be surprised. A lot of the time I think it boils down to "I'm afraid other people will panic sell so I'm going to preempt it", and the whole thing becomes self-fulfilling as stop-losses are hit.

It has been linked with Tether, despite Tether saying that there is nothing in these rumours.

It is because of that link that I'm a bit concerned - as there are plenty of people that heard that phone masts give you Covid and suddenly 5G was a target. All it will take are a few Bitcoin whales selling the news. Strange world isn't it...

Don't see how - Tether's assets not being back by much is hardly news, so why anyone would suddenly be spooked is beyond me.

USDC is by far the best stablecoin, with reserves vouched for by Grant Thornton. I don't touch Tether unless I have no choice but to trade through it, as which point I only touch it for a minute or so. :)

But yeah...some of the whales act like cockroaches when the light gets turned on over the weirdest ****.

Exchanges have been loaded up with BTC in the last hour. Something big is coming - and I suspect in a downward trajectory.

Yup, 10 days till I get paid again and I'm happy with the prices after buying at the top last month, DCA is king!

One whale clicks "buy" and BTC goes through the roof. No wonder people think it is a scam. It's just a big game for a handful of people.

I'm gutted because I've won around 3000 UBTC and it looks like all it does is drop in value. Any suggestions on what I should do? It's all in an online casino at the moment and I use it for my football betting.

If it's just dropping and there is no reason to expect it to rally, sell it and put the money in something else.

Unless you're talking about one of the big boys, my observation has been that once a coin starts bleeding it generally continues to do so unless something reverses the trend. If there's no big roadmap items on the horizon for UBTC it'll probably just continue to drop.

Yep! I actually have missed out on this one as I was just observing it. Had orders set which didn't quite hit - oh well. What I did hold went up at least.

Honestly, NFTs (specifically, minting and then selling on the secondary market) are the hot thing right now, and I've yet to work out a good way to differentiate the worthwhile ones from the worthless ones. :D

Lots of big institutions in the crypto market, its as bent as the stock markets I would wager.

The way the world is going and getting weirder I would put everything into DOGE as what could be weirder than a coin based on a meme dog going big?

Probably more bent. Sure, it's decentralised, but it is still run by the few and quite possibly more dangerous. They can literally print money if they want and I saw it happen on a coin called SKY yesterday.

They've decided that it is Bitcoin season and made it so - it is now at nearly 45% dominance in the Crypto sphere, meaning all other tokens are getting taken to the cleaners.

One man just purchased $1.6 Billion worth of BTC.

So I'm all in on BTC. If you can't beat 'em...join 'em.

That's Elon Musk's dog. That's pretty much all there is to it - but it's a weird world.

If Ben Foster created a coin it'd go through the roof. He's already got CyclingGK NFTs.... (which I think are a load of bull)

Here we go! New All Time High for Bitcoin is now a certainty. I feel it is going to be a very merry Christmas.

And if you'd done the same in crypto 5 years ago you'd be a much richer man.

Hindsight doesn't make us rich people. What are your predictions for 5 years from now?

  26. reids

Same as I predicted on page 1 of this thread (5 years ago funnily enough) - Eth to be king. Although the price has gone from £10 to nearly £3000 in those 5 years.

BTC and ETH all time highs... Followed swiftly by a whale correction... baby. Whales don't like retail so they're flushing them out with massive swings.

The most annoying thing is that I knew it was coming and did nothing about it! What a plonker.

Little more from BTC and then in theory the money will flow into alts. In theory. Either way, all time highs make the news and hopefully bring in more investors so I'm confident

    Business as usual in cryptoworld.

Not too fussed about corrections right now personally, price was around £550 when I bought in and I'm only selling at £10k so every move closer to that is a good move.

It'll easily hit that in time. It could even hit it this year! Fingers crossed.
