I see where you’re coming from because of course journalists never lie, so you’re right to weirdly stick up for them.

 

Stick up for all journalists? Nah. A lot of them are utter scumbags, as I’ve seen first hand. Query whether one specific football journalist is deliberately lying, despite knowing the truth? Sure.
But Burnsy has assured me that AL is lying, although he hasn’t explained what AL intends to gain from this deliberate falsehood.

 

It really is odd when you phrase your posts the way you do, how it also seems to confuse you when people call you condescending etc.

And moreover, without knowing Adam Leventhal personally, I have no idea what he stands to gain from it personally. Clicks for his article and paymasters maybe? Knowing Watford rarely comment on things.

All I know, as I have stated clearly, is that I know from 3 people who were in the press room at the time, that Adam Leventhal made barbed comments to both Edwards and the clubs press officer when they stonewalled him - then he took exception to the person who did get the story and refused to acknowledge that person.

Then came his story which isn’t correct and he knows it - but he’s written a piece that has just enough fluff around the edges. But I assure you, Adam Leventhal knows that Giaretta is no longer working for Watford Football Club. Which is what Andrew French said. If Giaretta is repurposed somewhere else within the Pozzo empire…so be it. Leventhal can have that as a victory should he wish.

But I repeat - I have heard from multiple people who were in the room at the time. And that’s why I’m content with saying Adam Leventhal has lied.

It's only natural that Jon would stick up for AL, they're probably good mates after the podcast business.

 

Strange that you acknowledge plenty of journalists are scumbags, yet choose to believe one over someone who has regularly provided accurate and reliable information about the club. One can only conclude AL is a personal friend of of yours?

No, but I don’t know Burnsy either. The only difference is that AL uses his real name. But as I’ve said, I’ve accepted that AL is a liar, so I’m not doubting, merely clarifying.

I’m 100% confident in what I’ve said, and have heard it from 3 separate sources. I’d be very happy to tell that to AL if I ever wanted to or stumbled across him.

I frankly don’t care if you believe me, him, or anyone else. That’s your prerogative. But no amount of your replies are going to convince me I’m wrong or shouldn’t have called him a liar.

 

It doesn’t sound like you’re ‘confused’. It sounds like you couldn’t possibly believe that a journalist might be lying and you are attempting to brown nose.

From using quotes from another journalist (who he was very openly rude towards at a club press conference) in his Athletic article - to being accused by a number of fans of hiding their replies to him on Twitter because they weren’t positive. He denies it but it looks incredibly like he got found out doing it and is backtracking.

 

Its worse than when Ellingtons wife/gf came on here.

 

Only the true Messiah denies his divinity.

 

This is gobsmackingly crawling, Randall-esque behaviour. Just breathtaking.



It's not entirely clear which option is worse - that Jon G is Adam in ever thinner veiled disguise, or that he's not and just did that in actual earnest.
