Another compelling finish. I can't see many draws happening (weather permitting) under the Stokes Test captaincy!
Top effort to win back to back Tests in Pakistan. Less convinced this approach will work against the Aussies, but it is certainly exciting.
Another great win! Sure they will lose a few but it's entertaining to watch, assuming you get up in time!
At least we play them at home next! In fairness, whatever the **** the plan was last time didn't work, might as well give BazBall a go!
Rehan Ahmed will make his debut for England at 18 becoming the youngest ever player . Good luck to him !
Was going to say a good day for England but Crawley going early might be a worry in terms of the ball spinning .
Aussies make light work of South Africa . A win in 2 days . Only 2 players got over 50 in the whole game .
Apparently the square was as green as the outfield! ICC fine incoming. Brook seems to have got the hang of this batting lark, albeit having run his captain out!
Probably just as well he has made up for it with another century. Breaking England batting records in Pakistan.
Rehan is the youngest debutant in test history to get a 5-for. 167 to win, Crawley hits a 4 for the first ball.
Excellent day for England again and an excellent series all round. Finish it off tomorrow. It's been nice to do well without Joe Root scoring all the runs
I think a lot of other test playing countries will look to emulate Stokes' style of captaincy. A year ago I feared a possible 5-0 whitewash by the Aussies in the next Ashes, next summer could be a belter.
We usually do better at home anyway I think against them. Thing is we are missing someone like Bairstow in all this too so where will he fit it.
Love the video doing the rounds of Shane Warne meeting a 13 year old Ahmed and telling him he was going to be a star. As usual, Shane was right. Very much missed.
So assuming Bairstow comes straight back in do they… 1- drop Brook 2- drop Foakes and Bairstow takes gloves 3- drops Duckett and move Pope to open
Any of these....except 1 or 3. Not sure he will walk back into the team but may depend what happens in February (when presumably he still won't be 100% fit?).
How about 4. Drop Crawley, open with Pope and either Bairstow or Brook at 5. Foakes is arguably the best keeper in the world and a very decent batsmen. Bairstow and Brook have scored 2400 runs between them in 2022 despite each missing about half the season
