  1. It's most definitely not a good time to be a Watford football and England cricket fan. Both are utterly atrocious.

Turned it around again with good death bowling though.

3 wickets in one over for one run.

I’m not as sure he’s as culpable as Silverwood and Root. Nor is bringing Strauss back the solution. Needs an overhaul, not a regression. Let’s hope it leads to it, I read somewhere that the viewing figures both the Ashes series and the T20s were amongst the lowest ever.

RIP Rod Marsh - archetypal Aussie and mainstay of their Test team during much of my youth.

Indeed. Showed Jack Russell that you can look cool as a keeper with a tache.

Said this back in September. Genuinely shocked and devastated by this one. Loved to hate him as a player, missed him as a player once he retired and loved his commentary, insight and back and forth with the Sky commentators. What a shame.

    Suspected heart attack apparently.

    Shocking and so sudden.

    Only 52 as you say.

A legend of the game and sport - still greatly involved and loved too.

Was only tweeting about the sad passing of Rod Marsh a few hours ago.

His first ball was it not that bamboozled Mike Gatting and for many were the first sight of this blonde shocked Aussie. Revived the dying art of leg spin and for me the greatest spinner ever. This was a time when spinners were seen by captains as a luxury and a danger to their own side. Pitches outside of the subcontinent did not help and even there the days of spin quartets led by Bedi and Chandrasekhar were seen as outmoded. Bit of a wild child who then settled down and coached trying to pass on his knowledge. By all accounts a fantastic bloke loved the cricketing world over. Led Rajasthan Royals to success using bowling in a format that is dominated by the bat and could have ended up as England head coach with Silverwood getting the boot.

Marsh is before my time but he did pop in on TMS and was always a hoot and great company.

RIP to both of them and a sad day not just for cricket in Australia but cricket in general. Two giants of the game.

Warne was a really great commentator and excellent player (even if I loved to hate him). If I was to name non-English cricket players, I think he'd be the second player to come to mind, only behind Brian Lara.

Shocking for a sportsman to die so young. When I see a young ex-cricketer died of a heart attack in Koh Samui, I instantly think drugs must have been involved, but don't want to jump to conclusions.

    RIP

You never know with grief miked. He was pretty close to Marsh and that was his generation growing up who he idolized along with no doubt Lillee, Alderman and company. So sad. Plenty of tears around the cricketing world. :(

Yes. Fantastic bowler, brilliant commentator, and apparently a great guy. Died way too soon, but got to date Liz Hurley. I guess life has a cruel way of balancing out the +s and -s.

A giant of the game and a giant it a man. One of my favourite ever sportsmen - which is was an achievement in itself given who he played for. Imagine many English cricket fans feel exactly the same.

    RIP.

I watched a lot of cricket during Warnes playing years and he’s the best cricketer I’ve ever seen. I was present at the SCG for his last test and the ovation he got from the England fans spoke volumes. Superb pundit.
Cricket is a lot worse off now he’s gone
RIP Shane. It’s who the word legend was invented for
