Covers Better Than The Original

Won't post the video to spare you all the cringe, but 10 year old me absolutely loved Tiffany's version of 'I think we're alone now'.

Girls were just starting to become interesting and there was news at the time that she was only 15 when they recorded the video and I remember thinking 'I might have a chance...'

Yep. Born in the 70's but a child of the 80's. Good decade to be a kid in. Happy not to be older now but I do wish I'd been around to see Watford's golden period instead of just catching the end of it. It's why 97-99 means so much to me.

The original by The Zombies was good. This cover is far better.

 

Santana did a very good cover of (the real) Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Black Magic Woman’ segueing it into ‘Gypsy Queen’. On the basis they did that, I will be able to say it is not better than the original. But 2 extremely good guitarists!

 

100% but it’s started a really awful trend of taking a song , slowing it down by 50% and having a mournful singer over the top, in a few occasions this has worked really well: Mad world, Hurt (Johnny Cash) , but it’s gone too far now.
