I can't think of a single player who's improved over the past year or two. At best one or two have retained ability. The rest have deteriorated massively. Our squad has a core of established, experienced premier league players, who now look utterly useless against bottom 5 Championship sides, regularly. There's a rotten, rotten stench around the club, apart from the obvious bad govnernence that is visible to all.

Hear hear! I still look back fondly on the Ray Lewington era. The club was in a very poor financial shape with a squad of limited players, but they were able to pull together and keep us in the division and even treat us to two Cup semi-finals by sheer force of will and enthusiasm - qualities so lacking in the current lot.

You are chatting absolute ****, I have watched a lot of Coventry and their style of play is not that impressive to be honest. The form table over the last month or so has Forest 4th. (Sheffield Wednesday 5th they have won 5 in 8), Derby look better under Rooney and are 7th and Coventry have won 2 matches in their last 13, taking this into consideration I am slightly bemused why you think Coventry have no chance of relegation pal. When you have 30 million and 18 million worth of talent on the pitch we should at least look threatening in attack TBF. No one is saying we should win easily but at least test your goalie once in a while. You looked like the team going for promotion and with good tactics/formations.
Well, you clearly haven't understood what you've read. The contents of this thread clearly show that we are appalled that a squad many of whom were playing in European top leagues last season can have performed so poorly as to be comprehensively outplayed by a Coventry side lacking players of that supposed stature and missing their main strikers. We were also appalled in exactly the same manner when we lost at home to QPR on Monday. As we were when we managed not to score against an awful Millwall team the week before, barely laying a glove on them in the 2nd half. We fans don't think we have a right to just turn up and roll over sides such as these; it's the players that seem to hold that view. We correctly believe that with the correct attitude, tactical set-up & selection we should always perform better than we have nearly all season, which would lead to victory over such as Coventry, more often than not. If you'd read the posts correctly, you'd notice many fans openly stating their preference for seasons where we had squads similar to the quality of yours where they played as if they cared, even if it meant we rarely finished above mid table in the Championship. Hardly the views of fans thinking they support a "Charlie big bollox club". Most posters have said they felt you clearly outplayed us and should have won. We are furious with our team's non-performance, so I'm not sure why you're so bent out of shape.

The chap I sit/sat next to said they blanked Xisco in the tunnel so one assumes the pre match team talk didn't raise the spirits!
As it seems they’d been working on 3-5-2 in training & then got told just before the game it was actually going to be 4-4-2 again, they were pretty underwhelmed.
This is why I can't understand why players like Dele-Bashiru and Ngakia made the move here. We're absolutely horrific at improving players, especially younger ones.
In fairness Ngakia must be happy with the number of games he's played this season (even if he's looked like 2nd choice of late). We've seen precious little of TDB, but from what we've seen of him, he's very much what we're missing, I hope he'll be fit enough to play a part in what looks like a horrendous run-in
Hughes has looked totally pissed off the whole time Munoz has been here. Probably something to do with being played out of position but he probably also knows Munoz is a clueless jester for Deeney and co.
Short sighted and ill counselled. They possibly saw the chance to make a small step down in status to play more football, but weren't wise to the toxicity and terrible policy here. I feel that the message is getting spread far and wide now though.
Hi all Got told by someone that I'm being slated in here - no problem with that at all, people have different opinions and all that, but the selective quoting is a bit off as it certainly changes the tone of what I actually said. So just wanted to put that right. "Well, that was not a good performance or enjoyable in any way. But don't get why some supporters are acting like it's the end of the world. Sure, we all want more and expect more given the last 5 years, but this is still in the top 20 of all seasons in the clubs history....." is what I actually said. Not just the bit after the final comma. Fully understand that point that it's not in the top 20 most enjoyable seasons, and agree. Purely a position thing. And also completely agree that, given the squad, we should be higher. I will continue to attempt to be positive and support the team. Through thick and thin. However hard that may be sometimes. The negative comments on here are all based on the fact that the appalling (not simply ‘poor’) level of performance we have seen this season is the culmination of at least 2 years of dreadful decision making by the hierarchy; and the quality of those decisions shows no sign of improving, notwithstanding the statement put out by the club after relegation. It seems to many that the lessons have NOT been learned, whatever may have been said in that statement. Quite a few on here have stated, since the ‘fall off the cliff’ in performance & results after the Cup semi-final, that the ‘model’ of identikit head coaches who all the players know will not be in position long, when coupled with the policy of selling the club to those players as a stepping stone, will lead to a lack of soul, identity and direction within the squad. And so it has proved. Being amongst the ‘top 20 seasons, position-wise’ is not enough if, as seems likely, we are effectively skint as a result. And as you can see by my forum name, I’ve seen some bad times, as have many on here who are making those observations.
Didn't come here to agree or disagree with anyone's points. Just to point out that those slating me (not the club/team) for my tweet were doing so whilst seeing a selected quote which changed the tone of what I'd actually said. If people still disagree with that, then it's fair to slate - if we all agreed with everything everyone said, there would be no need for forums or social media as it would be a bit dull if someone said something and there was just a stream of others saying "agree" - but at least disagree with what was said, not just an edited snippet.
Quite right to put the record straight in terms of the context of “top 20 season”. As a fan though I find it difficult to deal with such a fall when there appears to be obvious failings in approach and a lack of perspective in the last couple of seasons around decisions that have had direct and detrimental consequences on results. This season will be one of the top 20 seasons (so far) in the clubs history position wise but as we live through it, the experience, like the football is pretty dire. It could still all come right, but I have to say I can’t see it this season, and that compounds those errors as this league is quite poor this season. If we were in this position rising up the league, it would probably not feel as bad as it feels being in a downward spiral. Glass half empty? Half full? Neither. Its been knocked over.
And that's fine too. Others will see the difference. Having been a lurker on here for many years, and read many of yours posts in that time, I doubt we'll see eye to eye on many things until that day that hell freezes over. Which, despite the cold today, I don't think we're quite at yet That doesn't mean I don't respect your right to have said opinions.
Agreed....the issues itemized in my post are EXACTLY why some people are acting so negatively, and Miles expressed surprise people were. So the preceding comment about the rubbish performance(s), if anything, adds support to that negativity.
If anything, the line 'But don't get why some supporters are acting like it's the end of the world' in fact makes it worse. Can you really not see why fans are angry right now?
