    What do you mean ‘runners’?

GT did it with Sam Ellis when he became manager. With him as his on-field enforcer there wasn’t much chance of the players going ‘off-script’.

Need someone who sums up the club ethos, and combines their attitude with the direction of the club.

Needless to say, you've all overlooked our new captain, Tom Dele-Bashiru.

I’d give my left nut for us to sign a couple of players in the Eustace or Ben Watson mold. We’ve absolutely nobody capable of being a proper leader, who can unite the squad and demand the levels required on a daily basis.

Not a bloke who gets it because he’s been here for years, developing expertise in failure and having done nothing to shift the growing malaise around our dressing room.

Well that removes every player we currently have at the club then. :p May as well make Harry the Hornet manager.

Can't find that said anywhere, the only articles on him this year I've seen still mention him as being out of contract.

Adam Leventhal suggested there were talks but nothing more than that .

Hasn’t been any official word from the club about contracts.

"Hey guys. Any chance of a new contract?"
    "You've got to be kidding"
    Talks end.

Cleverly stated on sky yesterday he was training with us but he and gosling needed to prove their fitness before we would even consider talks.

Hopefully went like that but more like
"Hi guys, any chance of a new contract?"
" Lets see Tom old chap, quite old, never fit, high wages. 3 years do you?"
"lovely, see you in the summer of 2026 to go over this again"
"Oh hi Craig, do come in"

Wonder if Mowatt is an option?

Previous experience as a captain, did good work under VI before, decent player in a role we desperately need reinforcement and sounds like he wouldn't be massively expensive.

As long as we don’t go in for that guy Mowatt. I’m reliably informed he’s garbage.

Yes, after the struggle of our first season in Div2, he wanted someone who was experienced at a higher level to drive the squad on. It worked!

One smart signing. Got the others to do his running for him while he organised.

It was also the fact he knew ‘how’ to do it at that level and ensured that was implemented.

James Milner would be the equivalent today, but we could never attract him to our madhouse.

They have gone from pinching our youth prospects, and signing our most valuable player, to signing our players before we even think of signing them.:(
Why not just take Duxbury and Giaretta and short circuit the whole process ?;)

That show used to creep me out as a kid. There was no blood obviously, but seeing him litterally rip his skin off in the intro was pretty dark - no matter how cheerie they made it look and sound. Special shout out to Skele too - one of the first openly voiced gay characters on television aimed a young audience. Small steps - but it was a very brave move for the 1980s.
