It's you isn't it @LouOrns? You have finally convinced Gino of all his failings and you are going to put Watford back onto the path of success.

I'm not a Clevs fanboy but I keep having to remind myself that he hasn't died.

It's time fans started voting with their feet from next season onwards. Just stop going to Vicarage Road.

I think a lot were doing that already as they are fed up of the football served and silly kick off times .

I mean if Pozzo said he didn’t think the football wasn’t good enough and results not accepted could people complain ?

But Gino kind of shot himself in the foot and elsewhere by saying we had a decent enough squad for promotion and need an experienced coach then appointing someone from abroad .

Allegedly a protest is planned for the Mental Health World Cup the WD18 boys are putting on this weekend. I’m all for a protest but that isn’t the right time and I hope they reconsider.

It's a good idea but the problem is that will never hurt Gino's bottom line. It doesn't matter who you convince to not go as you will always have families who bring there kids along, die hard supporters of the club win or lose, Gino fanboys and of course the other percentage who are there "just because..." A completely empty support (all three stands) for a whole season would almost certainly make the higher ups take note, but we would have to turn into Wigan levels of turnout each week to make any statement. With the size of our fanbase I can never see this being effective. It took Swindon and Newcastle fans' years to finally see change at the very top, I fear we are still in the infancy of it.

The Pozzo Out protestors have come across as thick as mince for a while now, all they do on X is have a go at other fans rather than do anything meaningful.

To be fair they have actively said they do not support this protest and say it’s not the right time or place. (The group who end up online rucking with other fans and DNSYE).

Whether one thinks DNSYE sold themselves out with the Duxbury/Cleverley interview is another matter. I agree they don’t always help themselves with other fans.

That's really weird, it's not even a Watford ran event is it? Gino and Duxbury won't be there and I'm guessing the majority of people attending will be friends and families of those playing.

In this day and age it really wouldn't be difficult for a few of them to set up a whatsapp group/discord group and use their free online time to start coordinating/discussing how to remove the owner or at least put pressure on them.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the vast majority don't really care that much and just like a little moan online without consequence, and who can blame them!

Again to be fair to them, they did do about a 20 man protest before a match, 30 mins chanting outside directors box before Leeds (?) game. It was largely ridiculed but more effort than anyone else has made so far.

I don’t think their self promotion is very good and they antagonise other fans but I support their cause and admire that they do seem to want to use their own time to do something. From acorns and all that………

Probably for the best considering one of the WD18’s tweeted ‘**** Gino Pozzo’ a couple of days before expecting to be let into his house.

Not surprised Tom was sacked, was on the cards from the mid season near sacking. Disappointed with the decision. He made mistakes but was still learning. Didn’t get enough backing in January, totally undermined by the owners, hardly a surprise results tailed off.

He did enough to warrant a second season but Pozzo remains deluded about the quality of our squad.

Now eagerly awaiting the next inspiring coach who will be gone before Christmas when we fail to make a promotion challenge when we sell again in the summer and replace them with a 34 year old midfielder from the Albanian second division and a promising youngster who is out injured for three months.

    Rince and repeat.

He undermined himself when he publicly bent over and said he was perfectly happy with the squad in January, like a good little boy who's not got the balls to rock the apple cart.

If being the worst team in the entire EFL in 2025 and being the worst team in the Championship for two thirds of the season "warrants a second season", I can only imagine what actually doing a good job deserves.

There were also absolutely zero signings he was "learning" anything. Quite the opposite, if anything.

Apart from a striker which he admitted was an error not getting in was there any other positing where he might have been really keen to improve ?

We did actually bring in 3 players who improved their position albeit 2 from Udinese and one who was injured when arriving which I agree wasn’t ideal .

Of course we can always look to improve and get better in but personally never thought we were going to spend big or get a bus full of players in and that probably won’t happen this summer either .

Particular as the owner thinks the squad is good enough.

What we have now would struggle in League One. People are not wrong when they honestly believe next season we will be fighting for our lives for the majority of it. If the Summer window goes exactly to script and we spend a measly 1-2 millions on dross from Bayat to "plug the gaps" then nothing is going to change. We know where we need the recruitment. Problem is it's in areas most other sides have. Striker is an absolute must, but I can see us skimping on that and getting another Jebbison clone. Doumbia is raw and willing, but he cannot carry the side on his own. If the cost of failing to go up last season is still being felt, I do expect Chak and Louza to go at the first decent asking price.

Take those two out of our already weak midfield and we will really struggle to hold teams at bay. This can all be changed however with a semi-decent window for once, as long as we do not spend beyond our means. However we have said this so many times for the past 5/6 seasons and nothing has ever changed for the better. I do not expect any different this window either, but I do remain hopeful.

Certainly haven’t got the 4th best squad in the league as someone suggested or even a top 6 one but on the other hand think we certainly could have played better or been more positive games .

I wonder looking back how Tom feels about early January being robust and calling for reinforcements, to the transformation 3 weeks later when he became a pathetic coward sitting next to the vile Duxbury for that DNSYE interview. Gaslighting the fans.

Was 4 months pay really worth losing your integrity when the monsters were going to fire you in any case after leaving you with Bayo as your single senior striker? Do you think you should have grown some balls back in January and had it out with the horrors then and there?

TC does have to take some of the responsibility for the poor form in the 2nd half of the season. He wasn’t helped by injuries, or a poor window. But I just don’t see Gino employing any manager that is going to be vocal about the need for new players. No doubt the new manager will be someone who has no championship experience, and have to accept the players they are given, or be shown the door very quickly. That being the case, I think I would probably take TC over the new manager

    This is so hyperbolic.

Do you remember how poor Huddersfield were last season? They were in with a shout most of the season before falling away. Reading nearly got play offs despite nearly closing down as a club and Wrexham got promoted with James McClean, Matty James and Jay Rodriguez, being managed by Phil Parkinson! Our current squad would be very comfortable in League 1

Yeah the gap between L1 and the Championship has been much like the PL > Championship gap for a while now. A lot of yo-yoing from teams without external cash, teams like Rotherham, Wycombe etc. always struggling to bridge the gap.

Average revenue for a typical L1 side is probably only about £5m max (only about £1.5m prize money) whereas for an average Championship team it’s more like £20m, which is still a big gap to bridge.
