I see some tiny brain has got all giddy after one win and changed the thread title of the other one, so all the scholarly Cleverley outers can congregate here now.

One win against an appalling Derby side does not change the fact he's thick. Too thick to have the mental agility to succeed in management.

WFC deserves better than a dunce.

Cleverley OUT. Beautiful, sexual Italian man IN.

Well if Tom did leave maybe Carlo Ancelotti would like a little job here after leaving Real Madrid ?

Those eyebrows would certainly be raised even more !

Yet again he sets us up completely wrong. Such a poor line up and we again fall behind because of it. Clevs is clueless.

He does feel a bit of a Ken Sema manager. Nice but poor. Still, he is well suited to our abysmal squad so what’s not to like!

I truly want him to succeed, but I can't defend his line ups and lack of game plan any more. I'm indifferent to whether he goes or not.

He doesn't have the best options available to him, but he just isn't helping himself constantly selecting the likes of the awful Sissoko and Kayembe, refusal to drop Bayo etc.

Would be absolutely crazy to replace him.

Doing extremely well to make well if not a silk purse, then at least a reasonable mid-ranging one, from a sow's ear.

Many other managers would have had us where the experts, and many on here, predicted for this season.

    Mistake I feel.

    Should have been on earlier

    Giving away early goals !

Basically a carbon copy of last season. I think he’ll stutter on til the inevitable pathetic defeat against the filth and then it’s curtains.

Lost our last three home games, two of them against teams that had just one away win between them before coming to our place.

Perhaps tonight may turn out to be a blessing in disguise by serving as a wake-up call, as it combined with the Cardiff home game has proved you can’t take anything for granted in this division. While the effort from some of the players has been questionable especially in away games, I feel the team has definitely collectively shown plenty of desire in a greater percentage of games this season that they did last, never mind in 2022/23 (admittedly that’s a low bar). I feel if he can’t motivate the team to step it up at Coventry (who’ve been a bit of a bogey side to us in recent seasons) and against Norwich to get at least four points, then that’s our season over, because without that it doesn’t look like our team has much left to offer.

The squad just isn't very good, though he's not helping himself with some selections and his OTT praise of underperforming players. We have so many poor to average players in the squad it's very easy to argue who shouldn't be playing but quite tough to argue who deserves a start....Porteous, Ince, Doumbia, Ebosele etc....none have shown enough to suggest we wouldn't be moaning equally about their selection. We just aren't very good.

    Yes exactly.

Not like he was leaving out too many who should be definitely playing apart from Georgi .

Absolutely dire performance, and now I'm reading some nonsense in the Watford Observer that our problem is we have too many talented players and not enough cloggers.

He's the thickest man in the world.

I am starting to doubt his managerial skills as well. I think some fans are so desperate to keep a manager for a season+ that they are blind to his continuous **** ups. he's just not learning. I don't know if we could attract anyone better so we might end up sticking with him, but he's not helping himself

It’s not that we couldn’t attract anyone better (although I dare say there is truth in that), but considering our financial situation, I think it’s more the case that we don’t have the resource to bring anyone in. A likely replacement for Tom would be Robbo, Matt Bevans or Lloyd. It’s going to be someone internal.

I take your point about not learning with regards to errors, but I could also apply that to half the managers we’ve had since 2015.

Clevs probably only got the job as there was no one else we would be able to afford that they might like.

    Don’t agree with this.

The whole reason this story about TC potentially going is because he’s not Gino’s man. He was talked into hiring him. He won’t hire essentially TC Mark II to step in.

He will have spent the last couple of weeks lining up someone who is his man. Just like Udinese over the years, there’s always going to be someone to step in. There’s plenty of no-mark Italians, Spaniards etc out there.

Gino was literally showing a manager around on a matchday when TC was caretaker.

Gino was persuaded that hiring TC was the right thing to do - not because he himself personally wanted it.

    Sorry but this is bollox.

There are thousands of managers in Italy that would jump at the chance of managing us, who are miles and miles more tactically astute than our dimwit.

Is that so? Not that I’d looked into it much. Well, maybe we will replace him. I’m sure we can add any severances and additional fees to the debts that player sales will offset.

There's a rumour on Twitter that a Spanish coach Pacheta has agreed to join us - https://x.com/solofichajes123/status/1882424660433989925

Seems too specific to not be true. If this is the case it would be a genuine disgrace, I can't see anyone sticking with Pozzo and we might actually get some protests.

I could see Pozzo sacking Cleverley but even he must understand that if he’s going to sack a well-regarded former player doing fairly well because results aren’t good enough, it should be for someone with a track record that suggests he’d improve our fortunes. This guy seems a bit of a journeyman.

It's just baffling really. The only reason you'd sack him, is if you're really aiming for play-offs but the money invested in the squad and the signings we've made for the last 18 months suggests we're really only interested in staying in the championship. The only other reason is Gino's ego is hurt.

Not surprising one bit. Clevs only has himself to blame. His shocking line ups, tactics before during and towards the end of game, playing players out of position, not utilizing better players at the club because he has his favourites, poor subs and always predictable when he will make them. He had been completely figured out. So many dropped points against teams that Gino and let’s be honest, us as fans expected us to beat.

I really wanted Clevs to work out but you can’t keep making the same mistakes and think our owner isn’t going to sack you. When 99% of fans could see the line up was wrong before majority of games, but you persist, and continue to drop points, the writing was on the wall.

To top it all off you’ve been vocal about your boss the past few weeks criticizing him of what he’s given you to work with. Which to be fair is 100% right, but I don’t care where you work, the moment you publicly speak out against your boss, of course you’re going to be fired.

I can’t wait for Gino to be gone, but until he is, he has one way of running this club, his way. So either play nice or expect to gone if you don’t.
