Sacked by Hull but gets Sheffield U job.

Rubén Sellés ended up with a better position

Looking forward to applauding WBA onto the pitch for their final day heroics (when they could have been on the beach)

I do think he was unlucky to get the sack from Hull - they made a meal of it towards the end but he definitely improved them. I think he could go on to be a very good manager in the future. Hull appear to have a madcap owner similar to us so perhaps it wasn't really that much of a shock.

Jebbison going to Preston on loan .

    Bound to score

    Agree.

I stand by this. Jebbison should have gone out on loan at a League One last year and then moved to a Championship side this year. It would have been better for him and not hurt us so much last year up front.

We had Bayo up front for 80% of the season. Having the players set on fire every game would of hurt us less than dealing with him up top.

Thank god, "Save Our Tom" was sacked. Worst team in the EFL last season 2025.

I worked out on the other thread that you can actually extend that table to 29 games and only Cardiff were worse than us - goes to show how much we need to improve the squad over the Summer otherwise it's going to be a thoroughly miserable season.

Yes we knew all that but loads of reasons or excuses were made to explain away the poor form .

Regardless, it raises a good point, which is, as ever/every single year/eternally, where the FUCCK IS THE NEW KIT?!?!?!?!?

No spare cash for that by the looks of it. Players' are rumoured to be wearing black bin liners cut into shirt, shorts and socks, with yellow "Police line - Do not Cross" tape down the shirts to look somewhat like a "hornet". As for the badge, sponsor and numbers, a bit of white paint from B&Q was used to add those touches. Class.

There cannot be many clubs in the Championship outside of those newly promoted who haven’t had a change of manager in the past year ?

Frankly I'm amazed he's still there - they're an absolute shambles at the moment.

My manager is a Sheff Weds fan and he's worried they could be the next Bury. I didn't immediately realise this but they also have a wage cap and cannot pay more than (I think) £7k a week, so by all accounts its likely it'll be a bunch of kids from the 18s/21s and one or two freebies on low wages making up the squad next season. A lot of the current squad are apparently free to up sticks should they not be paid this month (after a two week notice period).

I would think there's little chance a club the size of Wednesday be the next Bury. Surely far too many (rich)people out there with an interest in the club, whether that be emotional ties or seeing the potential of a bit of success with that club if it can be purchased for the right price.
They're having a tough timer of it now and have had their share of shady characters involved in the last few years, but they'll be back at some point - see Leeds, Forest, Villa, Newcastle, Man City etc. It's clubs like ours that exist on much more of a tightrope in the long term.

Whilst I got the concern, I did think he was reaching the point of hyperbole. I think perhaps a better comparison would've been Reading, flirting with disaster before someone eventually comes in on their white horse to save the day.

    Fixtures out tomorrow.

Will the Championship games kick off at 12.30 on the opening day like last year ?

I'm currently just outside Ferrara in Italy and SPAL have been demoted two divisions because the US owner didn't realise he had to register the club for next season and missed the deadline because he was on holiday.

I hope we get a really "easy" run of fixtures to start of with, grow into the new season with hope then slack off around Xmas time and watch everything go full circle. It's going to happen, and it doesn't matter who we get first game, we always win it. Tough afternoon for Leicester at the Vic.

Our most enjoyable games were against the "better" sides in the division I felt. The best was of course against the dumpster fire up the road, but still. We somehow need to find out how to beat ****ing Preston North End. Dropped points to all the relegated sides too.

Way out of this division is ruthless dispatching of the 15-20 average teams and hold your own against the top 6-8
