Pleased for Oxford. They have been so close over these past couple of seasons, so good to see them finally do it.

Excellent! I shall have a new club to go to on my watch Watford everywhere quest.

Mrs Ilkley said “but what if it’s a date we can’t do?”
I said “there’s no such thing.”

They would have to win whilst Forest lose with a 12-goal swing between the two, so yes, it is.

Well last time Oxford played in this league and all 3 PL relegated teams were ones that got promoted the previous season we went up.

    We can all dream …

There’s a very tiny possibility that Forest could go into the game against a Burnley side with nothing to lose and think they’re safe, then nerves kick in when a Luton side that put four goals past Brighton without reply race into a comfortable lead. But, allowing for the crazy results you can get at the end of the season especially involving teams which the pressure’s off, the most Burnley could beat Forest by is six goals. In order for the Scum to stay up, at the same time they’d need to beat Fulham by at least six, and if both those results happened, both Fulham and the Scum would be investigated for possible match-fixing. It’s likely Fulham will lose, but to avoid such a thing happening they won’t completely roll over.

    Don’t worry there won’t be a 12 goal swing .

Luton will go it and get caught out as they usually do.

Fulham are favourites tomorrow and rightfully so.

***** have only won 1 of their last 17 matches too, so even winning today looks unlikely, let alone by a huge margin.

    All those plucky defeats!

The points deduction for Forest made survival look closer than it actually ever was. In truth all 3 promoted sides fell well short of the level needed to stay up.

Wayne Rooney heavily linked with Plymouth, seems an odd choice for a club who seem well-run and who (with the exception of Foster) do a good job of recruiting managers

I have a soft spot for Plymouth having lived there for 5 years, so I hope they do not go for this buffoon!!!

Rohl signs a new deal with Wednesday, a massive coup considering the recent (and very possibly future) managerial comings and goings

He will be a hot property for even a smaller PL club to come sniffing around if he does well with Wednesday next season. If they didn't have Xisco's awful management style they might well of finished near the playoffs as they were a form side despite the odd drumbing. I fully expect them to kick on, but then again it might go totally pear-shaped again for them.

It's now been confirmed that Rooney has been appointed.

With him as their manager and Whittaker likely to leave they'll surely be in for a tough season.

    A modern era "Steve Bruce".

    This will not end well.

As a manager Rooney is nowhere near as good as Steve Bruce.

Yep, Bruce was a solid manager, certainly at championship level until the last few years. Rooney is just an awful manager full stop.

The Newcastle spell rather trashed his reputation but did well with Birmingham, Wigan and Hull .

Got Villa to the play final too .

Ooooo feel for Plymouth fans here. Rooney is a cheque book manager at best, and he won’t have a particularly big one at Plymouth to play with.
