Jokes aside - Luton are insanely fit, or just motivated, or both, compared to us.

I actually despise Sunderland for this. Incompetent, useless c*nts. A thoroughly pathetic performance from them.

With 1 minute to go, Sunderland took 30 seconds to get the ball out of their area. Incompetent.

That was the worst miss I have seen in years haha.

Luton are a pub team, they are horrible to watch. Effective yes, but Jesus christ it is like watching the dark days of football. The standard of quality in that game was absolutely woeful.

Boro will play them off the park in the final.

He doesn’t care. He’s not even going to be aware of that result tonight. I suspect Edwards going there in the first place didn’t even raise more than a shrug from him.

They have what some fans want and are everything Watford FC are not .
Fitter, Stronger, Teamwork, Togetherness, Trust in their Manager and Belief.
Right now, we are light years away.
Ok, the football Luton play is deemed as basic, but we have just appointed a manager who loves vertical football or a kick and rush style.
I am not bothered which team goes up, but l am concerned that we will become a struggling team next season.

I mean they reached the plays off last season too so obviously not a bad team regardless of who was manager..

But yes going to be worse with the Edwards effect .

Luton deserved it, Sunderland just never turned up and turned into us as soon as they scored. I still want Coventry to go up personally, but they have to get past Boro' at the Riverside tomorrow, no easy feat. If they do that, they should be able to beat the cavemen. Sunderland had a great chance going into this having lead from the first leg but didn't seem to want it tonight. You get the feeling being the underdog in the final, they might just sneak it whoever they play. If they do go up, hopefully they will have a rotten season and come straight back down again. :)

That's funny, that would sum up nicely us under Aidy in 2005/06 - and the similarities between that season and this one are uncanny, with our seasons almost exactly reversed with the number of goals scored/conceded being the only significant differences - even down to the scum winning at Sheff Utd and looking to catch them at one point only for them to pull away again.

Which just about summed up the quality on show tonight, 2 piss poor teams in fairness. Luton where organised, physical and wanted it more. Sunderland ran out of ideas pretty quickly and looked a bit like us against Millwall.

I thought I'd care more but I really don't. I hate our team and owners so much at the moment that I think we deserve all we get. The fact that our local rivals are doing it with one of our cast off managers is actually quite funny. The fact that he was supposedly the manager the owners were going to support this season "no matter what" just makes it all the more hilarious imho.

It's karma for Gino. It's just a shame for us that we have to suffer for his failings too.

The football maybe wasn't pretty but one of the best seasons ever.

Goals, desire, commitment and of course promotion.

Ok went a bit pete tong after that...

    Duxbury really.

I presume the Pozzos and others never had any intention of backing Edwards.

They basically said he wasn't good enough after 11 games - when we were actually doing fine.

Edwards would not have succeeded at Watford this season. He had players who would not fight for the cause or any manager. The Luton players, in fairness to them, make the most of their abilities, by adding hard work, desire and a sense of duty. I think they will be found out somewhat in the wide open spaces at Wembley, but you never know. If they do get promoted, I fear their points tally will be in the record low area. If they add some “superstars” on big wages, it will take from their current team ethic. If the don’t add players, they are ****ed. Being magnanimous, it’s their time to gloat, after decades in our shadow. It will be short lived.

Much as I think Duxbury is an utter slimeball, it was obvious that the decision to remove Edwards wasn't his and we can presume that he did genuinely want to see a change in direction.

    This is all on Pozzo.

Not sure why everyone thinks Boro will automatically roll Luton over, Luton last beat Boro… three weeks ago.

Boro are easily in the worst form of all four teams as well.
