If pearson would go to derby what makes you think he wouldnt come to us? If he has any faith in his own abilities he might feel he can make enough of a difference to keep us in the premiership rather than sign for a team that has no guarantees of playing in the prem.
It just reminds me of Charlie Miller. The touted " Great Rangers player" who we could turn round into a class premiership player.
