For my two cents, I'm in the east and so far I'd say the summer has been pretty bloody shyt - far too much rain and schizophrenic weather to date. It's in danger of replicating last year when we really only had any kind of summer at all after the fact in a miraculous September. Fingers crossed....

There’s nothing to enjoy about Southgate’s England! Now, if they somehow win the trophy, that’s different. That will be enjoyable. The journey so far has been miserable though.

Yeah. Been back and forth a fair bit as I had some work to do at Glastonbury and Hyde Park. But flew back out to Berlin yesterday and arrived in Dortmund this morning. Currently sat in a fairly dreary hotel bar!

 

Losing the final or being knocked out in the group stage is the same end result. Unless they go on to win, the shambolic, disjointed, incoherent performances - which are very hard to enjoy in isolation - will coalesce to nothing.

That may be your view, but it is not mine. Having endured years and years of England failure to reach the latter stages of tournaments, I take some (albeit limited) pleasure in reaching three semi-finals in four tournaments.
