Carlos Edwards' agent has told skysports.com that he expects 'a lot of interest' in the Luton Town star when the transfer window opens.

The Trinidad and Tobago international was strongly linked with a move to Premiership new-boys Watford during a summer in which he made a name for himself by shining at the World Cup finals.

Whilst The Hornets failed to raid their local rivals for the wide-man, with a reported bid of £450,000 falling short of The Hatters' expectations, the Kenilworthless Road powerbrokers may have to brace themselves for a renewed assault on one of the Bedfordshire side's star men. SPL giants Celtic are the latest side to be linked with the former Wrexham man .

OBVIOUSLY we are going to be heavily linked with both Carlos Edwards and Jobi Mcanuff, who both are looking too good in the championship. Undobtebly we are going to be continually linked with them in the lead up to the opening of the transfer window, but do we need them? I think we do, as both ashley young and mc Hameur are probably going to be played upfront at some point in the seaon. But who would you rather have, carlos edwards, jobi McAnuff or any other wingers?

Would be quite amusing to have King Edwards in the side. Maybe we could take over from Tottenham as the Spuds?

In all seriousness, neither. We need a proven Prem performer. Alan Smith on loan anyone?

It was his agent that stated that he is staying there... SAF has been rather tight lipped about it.
Nothing to say that he wouldnt loan him to us though, the relationship we have with manure is a good one and i know that sir alex looks at us as a breeding ground for his up and coming players so why would he not want to give us a chance to stay in the prem with a player of smiths quality.... not the best temperament in the world however, and since his horrific leg break struggling to find the quality that got him the manure contract in the first place.. but maybe a spell with us on loan is just what he needs to find his form and regain his first team spot there.

I do agree smith would be ideal for us but if i had to choose then edwards would be my choice. He really impressed me in the world cup.

Edwards would be good as he is also a quality full back. i feel we should have clinched this in the summer though before the rash smith buy and before Edwards went on a decent run of performances.

palace supporting mates don't seem impressed with jobi this season, they reckon he is just waiting till jan to see what is on offer then

Either / or, both would fit in and enhance the squad.

I doubt we'll go for either. I think our wingers have done well this season.
