I saw this earlier, but mentally filed it under rubbish. We have Gaspar, Ferreira and Ngakia. Can’t see us brining in another RB and adding another loan to our over-subscribed loan allocation. He’ll be wanting to be first choice too and will expect plenty of game time.
Thought the same thing but figured I would post it anyway. Only thought was Ngakia’s hamstring injury. Is he now out with it for 2 months? Only leaves Ferreira and Gaspar, and we all know Gaspar sucks at RB. While Ferreira acclimatizes, Ramsay will get minutes. Kamara Davis Choudhury Martins Araujo Ramsay With Bilic wanting another winger, Martins could be the one to make way as could Kamara. Davis is injured or sick every other week. It’s whether or not Liverpool would want guaranteed game time etc.
IF Ngakia is done for a few months, Gaspar is seen as purely a CM option, and they want to bin off Morris (who is cack) and see Ferreira as a LB option… …this makes sense.
Ngakia can’t play wing back. Gaspar can’t play wing back. We’re not sure if Fereira can play wing back. Seems like a good idea to me.
Hopefully we can get at least 3 new right backs before the end of the window. Law of averages says one of them is going to be decent
We tried the 'Law of Three' with CFs this summer and that didnt pan out. Maybe strikers have a modified 'Law of Four' which is why we brought in Aruajo.
Ferreira is decent going forward and crap in defence - wing back seems more suitable for him right now than RB.
I wanted us to sign Ramsay on loan in the summer, and really Pool should have let him go given how little he's played (which was obviously going to be the case). It would have solved all our issues at the time. Now though, given we've signed Ferreira (even though he's a massively mixed bag), I'm not sure this would make much sense, especially as it'd use up yet another loan spot.
Ramsay is quite versatile and can play as a defensive central midfielder (or he did in his youth for Aberdeen) as well as right sided full/wingback.
Would also like to see us go the whole hog / Hogg and sign Hobbes at left back to give balance. Although he's recently been linked with Hull so we'll have to move fast.
