Apparently Tom Cleverley is also crap, along with Cathcart, Troost-Ekong, Kabasele, Deeney and Masina.

Oh and the Head Coach and all the other coaches. And the owners.

Oh hang on. And the medical staff. And the fans.

    And Tom Cleverley.

    That concludes today’s round up.

Totally understand your opinions. As I said straight from our own kickoff we looked totally lost. Simply unacceptable way to start a football match in any division.
I felt for Etebo because he was totally exposed by our lack of fight and passion. Sema, Clevs, Louza were just passengers.
Brighton simply out ran us and outfought us and deserved the victory.
The only plus I hope for is that we've learnt our lessons and this doesn't happen again.
I will not accept my team not being up to the fight one little bit.

Are you desperate to let us know you are heterosexual? That’s what that very long post seemed to amount to.

How close are choosing to stand next to gay men if they are always getting in your face?

Do you think there's a possibility that the open displays organised by such as Stonewall and Gay Pride etc may have had some direct influence on this development? It's a shame that the situation as was necessitated such organisations to be formed and to activate for change, but that's the way it was.
Maybe they should feel 'pride' for the successful impact they've had.

Looking back on the game again despite being outplayed I can only remember Bachmann having just one shot to save

Statswise we had more possession than in the Villa game in a game most people thought we dominated

    upload_2021-8-22_12-48-41.png

What that shows to me is that it is the big moments which decides games particularly in the premier league. Brighton are dangerous on set pieces, Dunk normally weighs in with a few goals so pretty baffling that our most dominant defender in the air Sierralta did not start.

The second goal was just a poor misjudgement from WTE, he should have ignored the call from Cleverley if indeed he made one. Cleverley was weak and we missed yesterday Hughes coming back to receive the ball from the defenders. Hughes shields the ball better but that ship looks to have sailed.

The set up of the team at the start and the second goal killed us

Yesterday disappointing as I thought he would get something from the game

Anyway on to the next one

Phewwww who dropped their guts? What an absolute stinker by us!

Graham Potter/Brighton had our number again.

I do think had Sierralta been playing we wouldn't have conceded either of those goals. Hopefully he starts against Palace in the cup to get game time and then starts against Spurs on Sunday.

  7. I only felt the need to respond (fully) seeing as I was asked to re-visit and reconsider my previous post. And called a moron.

You'll not now hear anything further from me on the subject unless there's something to respond to. But, for the record, I couldn't give two hoots about anyone else's sexuality. I simply hope you all find a partner appropriate to you without making a huge song-and-dance about it. Or requiring that everyone should all have to sign up to some sort of police state, groupthink, social engineering agenda. Count me out on that one.

Respect (which I have plenty of) works both ways.

Avoiding the whole bedwetter/happy clapper thing because it's painfully dull, but while overall it was a bad performance against an upwardly mobile, yet still average Prem team, I'm not going to overreact off the basis of one game if we start playing a serious XI and prove that we've learned from it. Admittedly that's a big if, I'm sure that nonsense XI won't persist too long, although I'm not sure what tactical shifts Xisco has up his sleeve...

Same way I avoided any hyperbole about how good we were last week, I will do the same with how bad we were this week.

Squad needs some serious work though. Stars seem to have aligned for us to actually have a really decent attack, but that midfield and defence is not good. Midfield still isn't finished, we need Yokoslu/a physical defensive midfielder. They ran through the midfield with such ease yesterday. Will give Louza benefit of doubt but was clearly dreadful on the day. Cleverley and Gosling should be nowhere near a premier league midfield. Nor Sema.

Defence, if the Pozzo's don't spend here then they will clearly never learn. WTE is awful on the ball and not prem standard, neither are Masina, Cathcart, or Kabasele. Rose and Femenia hardly fill with confidence either. We have an aging mixture of very average defenders who are nowhere near the level required. Why we would sign Ashley Fletcher and not put those wages towards a defender when we are on a limited budget is beyond me.

Xisco - completely schooled yesterday, let's hope he is a quick learner. Has earned our trust, but for goodness sake put a proper 11 out now onwards.

According to the needlessly aggressive wolfpack of fans near me, all our players were '******* ****s', every one of them individually, right from kick off and several times throughout the match. Mind you, they said the same about all the Brighton players as well (as well as being called 'pedos'). By 'said' I really mean 'screamed with spittle-flecked fury' almost falling into the row of seats in front of them. For good measure they taunted some of our fans and threw in homophobic abuse towards Brighton fans. A delightful matchday experience for those unfortunate to be near them!

I simply don’t buy this stuff that Sierralta isn’t up to speed yet after the summer. He’s been back in training for weeks and played in pre-season. Plenty of players who played in tournaments are back playing - some played in the Olympics too.

I think it’s just a matter of Xisco picking someone else. Which is a concern.

Apparently the opposition have had only 5 shots on target so far this season, and we've conceded 4 goals, including the Villa pen. That's the Prem for you. Not sure Bachmann had much chance with any of the goals.

There seems to be more of this sort of thing. I put it down to all-seater stadiums. Fans know there's no chance of getting close enough to opposition fans for any fisticuffs like in the good old days so they feel free to shout abuse all game in the knowledge that they're safe. We had a couple near us who were raging all match at the Brighton fans. I told him they'd probably feel much better if they actually got close enough to punch them and even showed them a way they could do it without attracting attention. They weren't interested. Agreed. Palace game seems ideal for giving 90 mins to Louza/Ngakia and also getting some minutes into King and Sierralta. Hope we don’t play the no-hopers like Navarro though.

In response to HSH. The quote used in the preview is from Noel Coward and the whole nature of the opening post is towards the literary aspects of Brighton. I have never ever intended any offence to anyone who may read it and is homosexual. They are fully entitled to equal rights and everything else as with the rest of the population. They do not deserve any abuse in any shape or form which we sadly see around the globe in less enlightened places.

Two of my own great heroes for instance are Alan Turing and Piotr Tchaikovsky for instance. The nature of your posts not just today but in the past are unnecessary and completely against what the club stands for in relation to the community. Namely inclusion for all.

There is also the high handedness in relation to the nature of your replies to those who did not actually travel to the game. This does not make you superior in any shape or form. You seem not to have learned one whit from your previous bans under different aliases.

And this thread predictably has seen an inordinate amount of bickering, name calling and unseemly behaviour. If you cannot accept someone else having a different opinion please argue in an adult fashion rather than resorting to hurling abuse or questioning someones intelligence. Forums are for differing opinions and debate but a little more decorum and reasoning would not go amiss. The number of spats that go on here would put a twenties gangster get together to shame.

If anyone sees language that in it's intent is racist, homophobic or sexist please let a moderator know.

What was this, the first away game since Palace away 18 months ago? It's no surprise that it attracted the absolute dregs of our supporter base - the one's that the club has to officially beg to not be the absolute dregs of our supporter base and yet the message falls on deliberately deaf ears.

Funny how some furiously back the club in all things until it infringes on their bigotry.

Eh? Was no whooshing intented! Pretty relaxed about yesterday and that was after spending the day going to Brighton and back.

Pretty sure all my points are fairly equitable. Our attack is good, are midfield needs more, our defence is **** and our manager deserves time!

Just because I don't consider a player PL standard doesn't mean they are **** or we're going down. We've often played well above our level.

  32. Some reasonable stuff there Smudger (I now understand your literary reference) and some that is utterly bizarre. I've never intended to cause any offence or abused anybody on this thread. Neither was I being particularly critical of 'armchair fans' or in contradiction of the community and 'family values' of our club and inclusion for all. Once upon a time I had a role directly supporting them. I'm afraid you're simply making all of that up.

B.t.w., only one of my previous aliases was actually banned. And still is some years down the line. So much for any notion of a 'statute of limitations'. Murderers get out of jail in less time. As for the second one, I simply forgot the e-mail address and password and couldn't get back on again.

As for "If you cannot accept someone else having a different opinion please argue in an adult fashion rather than hurling abuse or questioning someone's intelligence", well I'd refer you back to 06.19 on this thread this morning and then consider and decide who is guilty of the crime of being unable to accept someone else's opinion and who has been sinned against. And who's guilty of hurling abuse and questioning someone's intelligence.

It's really not my fault if some on here (including some of the mods it would now appear as well) have skins as thin as a sheet of ultra-thin graphite (that's one cell thick b.t.w.) and simply can't handle any sort of 'alternative opinion' marginally in contradiction of the boorish new orthodoxy apparently now required of all. The term 'thought police' comes to mind.

I'll continue to post as I see fit ta very much. And you can consider what you feel you need to do about that. If anything at all. Whatever might happen down the line I'll always be true to myself which is far more important to me than my status on WFC Forums.

    Way I see it...

Is that the worst I've seen us play in years? Yes.

Is that the worst XI we'll put out this season? Also yes.

Ozan and Kucka are a level of magnitude above the others.
