I can't see 3 worse sides than Watford and we are doomed to relegation. If we can't get anything against a Brentford side missing Toney, Canos and Pinnock we don't belong in this league. I saw more promise in the displays of Leeds and Norwich than I did in our effort at Brentford and unfortunately can't see us surviving. The only thing that can save us is that I have a large wager on us being relegated and hand on heart hope I do not collect.

They didn't have Toney, Canos and Pinnock but we didn't have Sarr, Sierralta, Etebo, Nkoulou, Foster and Masina.

Leeds are a good side, despite them being a team of dirty cheats over the years. They don't let many in and are well organized, hard to break down and defend as a unit. Norwich are very similar to us, they have a very Championship defense and concede a lot of goals. Farke (a little like Gino) was stubborn and never addressed (or I assume he never did), with their respective owners. We have had the same tired back line for what, three/four seasons now? Our best defensive line would be - not in their respective positions here mind...

    Foster
    Ngloulou
    TGFC
    Kiko
    Kabs

Kabs and Kiko should of gone two seasons ago and by now we should be flaunting a new look and hungry back line. This is major reason we will get nowhere until this changes. Gino is so blind to it, how can he not see what the fans' can?

Can't see it myself. Surely he'll be around to give authoritative advice on recruitment and Gino will see how that works out.

You think you're the only one with that problem today?

That’s my view. If you have a different view that’s fine. Of course at this at this stage of the season we don’t know how it will end but I think that defeat will prove massively important.

It’s not a “view”, it’s simple common sense, There are 66 points left to play for, to say that that single result “will” be decisive at this stage is completely impossible to do. And, quite frankly, defeatist.

Apart from anything else, we have already won at least two, probably three, matches which we did not expect to do. So making predictions this season seems unusually hard.

it’s also doubtful, as the table currently stands, that Brentford are direct relegation rivals. Now, as for Burnley….

Kiko was our best defender on Friday night and his link up play with Sarr was a major factor in promotion.

I fear on Wednesday Dyche will have them bombard crosses into Wood and/or Barnes/Rodriques and WTE, Cathcart and Bachman will capitulate. Burnley at 11/10 is like printing money for Xmas.

Remember, there is always one side perceived to be in relative safety in roughly mid-table during the first half of the season who have a mighty loss of form and come tumbling down towards the bottom three and get sucked into the relegation battle. Hopefully, it will be Everton or Palarse this time.

Christ you are argumentative aren’t you ? It’s my view that losing that game to a relegation rival when we were winning with 10 mins to go will be a crucial result when we look back in the season. That IS my view. You may not agree and that’s fine. Of course there are 66 points left to play for of course and maybe we will win all 66 of them. Indeed it may even be your view that it’s defeatist to believe we will be relegated until it’s mathematically impossible to be relegated. By all means disagree but don’t tell me I’m not entitled to my opinion.

Sadly I doubt the Stripy Nigels will be anywhere near trouble now. They seemed to have signed a dead-ball defensive midfield genius out of nowhere to steer them to mid table safety judging by last night's match. Who the hell is this player and why on earth weren't we in for him? He would be ideal for us in our current predicament...

We signed surperior midfielders in Kucka, Tufan and that lad from Rangers.

Well, I suppose like the dressing room bustup between our owner and Pearson, Slav asking for too much money and being released, the unpaid FA Cup bonus situation, we'll never know the truth about the Hughes summer contract negotiations.

Seems to be a common theme here. Pearson, Slav, Hughes all seemed decent Watford employees to me. FA Cup run was good.

Then there is the shadow on the other side of the deal.

Could our sluggish performance be attributed to Covid perhaps, or would that be giving too much credit to the lads?
