Yes, it's been very up and down or more aptly swinging wildly like some mad pendulum. Xmas fixtures will be far more indicative particularly as there is often some unexpected results due to the congested fixtures which may work in our favour or may things very, very difficult. Looks more and more likely now that we will play a much 'weakened team v Leicester in the cup.

I'm utterly convinced if we lose to Burnley on Wednesday (which will drop us into the bottom three), Claudio will be Dilly Dong Dilly GONE.

Not because of losing a fifth straight game - but as a scapegoat for the owners failings in recruitment. We will then go into Palarse game with an interim in charge who will blunder about, not give a crap
if we continue to lose games, as it's not his actual job, then end up rock bottom come the new year. Not usually this negative after a loss - but the way we totally lost the game from such a winnable position is absurd.

Can’t see Gino sacking Claudio but I can easily see him resigning. He’s 70 years old and done it all, he’s doesn’t need this ****.

Clearly he brought Pedro on to score a second goal and make the game safe, a decision I was happy with at the time, but then the exact opposite happened and taking off Cleverley showed how important he still is to us. The problem is if we keep Cleverley on who does Pedro replace? Cucho was the obvious to me as he was the least effective of our attackers but then it means either Pedro, King or Dennis on the right which I imagine is something they wouldn’t be comfortable with.

Surely it wasn't £9m cash? Assuming that is the fee - and we'll have to wait until we default on a payment to Nantes and then I can find out and AL can write about it - it's got to be structured? In which case if he ends up costing us the full £9m he'll be worth far more by then.

If they do that then I'll be in the Pozzo Out club.

Ranieri is the ideal man for Watford. We need to attack because we can't defend and he's doing a phenomenal job in that department. What would they do? They'd bring in a QSF-type, we'd lose the attacking edge and still concede every game.

Yep, I’ve always pretty much been 100% behind any sacking, some more than others. Although you can dislike our hire and fire attitude and want more stability, they’ve generally always been correct in their firings.

CR is finally the exception, he’s got one hand tied behind his back with this defence, sacking him would be crazy and as you say there isn’t a coach who could make our defence better.

2'6 is about what he's now worth. If he plays for us again, I'll scream and scream until i'm sick.

Of course, we know that. We also know that we desperately needed to invest in defenders and we see how that went.

I can see him gone if there’s another loss against Burnley. They’ll think it’ll bring a ‘new coach bounce’ in our ‘easier games’.

Surely will be in instalments, but no reason to suspect any dependencies on appearances/goals etc.

"The Club confirmed the completion of the transfer and said Louza’s contract with Watford is for five years. RMC Sport and other sources suggest the transfer fee is in the region of £8.6 million."

    Positives
    – The Coach and Horses at Kew Gardens is a very fine pub. In fact, coming out of Kew Gardens station I thought I'd stumbled onto the set of Love Actually or something. A little chocolate box courtyard with attractive cafes, carol singers, fat, leafy Christmas wreaths on all the front doors.

    – We led for an hour despite being extremely poor in so many key areas.

    – Emmanuel Dennis is a terrific player.

    – I ticked another new ground off the list and am now closing in on the 92.

    – Can't fault them for effort.

    – Cleverley does so much unappreciated, ugly work in an unfussy way and after he went off we were an absolute mess in midfield.

    Negatives
    – The stadium is made of Lego. Not a patch on Griffin Park.

    – The atmosphere was non-existent. Switching out the lights before the teams come out doesn't have the dramatic effect those who came up with the idea probably think it does.

    – So many weakneses in critical areas. Bachmann's kicking invites pressure over and over again. WTE made yet another huge mistake leading to a goal. Kucka should not be asked to play any more than 55 minutes. His legs had absolutely gone after that.

    – Failing to win away is not the issue. Failing to dig in and secure a critical point (and deny a potential relegation rival two points) is becoming a very costly habit. Brentford have won only one more game than us this season but are ninth, seven points ahead of us, because we can't scrap for ugly points. Sadly, this is a team with a soft underbelly.

As you well know Moog hubris is punished by the gods.
In which case Gino and *****bury will be down in Hades with Tantalus, Sisyphus etc.
Perhaps Tantalus and Sisyphus can be brought in on loan?

This was the equivalent to the AV game 2 years ago. It’s not just that we threw away 3 points. It’s not just that we gave a relegation rival 3 points. It’s the crushing blow to our players’ confidence and the boost to Brentfords. What an opportunity missed…..

That's correct, but they aren't interested in selling now. He's already shown enough to suggest that in 3 years he'll be worth £20m+. Basically they spent less than £15m on Louza and Dennis and are likely to make a £40m+ profit on them when the time comes. Exceptional business. If only they'd kept Hughes and bought a fooking centre back.

You have no idea that that will be so, until the end of the season. So it is daft to consign us to doom now.

Far too much is made of that Villa game anyway. If Mariappa hadn’t scored an absurd OG v Brighton, or if Deeney had scored the penalty v Spurs, it wouldn’t have mattered, for example. Just goes to prove that one result doesn’t seal relegation, at least at this stage.

Had we won we would have been 16 pts with Brentford 17 . As it is now a proper 6 pointer with Brentford in a comfortable position in 9th.

Louza has been hooked at half time in several games he has played. Don’t see how that leads you conclude he will be worth £20m plus. This is the same forum talk that had Chalobah at £50m when he was ultimately released for free!

When I was at a lodge in Tsavo East, in Kenya, we had semi tame hyraxes all around the place and baboons swinging down into the dining room to bare their teeth and steal our buns.

We have turned into the English equivalent of Granada. A shop window for young players with potential, a place for Udinese's cast-offs and destined to finish no higher than 15th in the top league. It is notable that after Pozzo's sold their stake in Granada (when they were relegated) that their last 2 seasons in the top tier have seen them finish 7th and 9th respectively, an significant improvement to when the Pozzo's held the controlling stake.

"The solution to the crisis came with the signing of a partnership agreement between Granada and Udinese Calcio, with the Spaniards incorporating large numbers of players contracted to the Italian club as well as receiving its youth players and reserves as part of the agreement. In 2010–11, Granada finished in fifth position, with most of the players loaned by Udinese still on board. On 18 June 2011, the club became the first winner of the promotion play-offs – a different system was used from 1985 to 1999 – after successively defeating Celta de Vigo (1–1, penalty shootout) and Elche (1–1 on aggregate, away goals rule), thus returning to the top division after a 35-year absence."

    Is history repeating itself?

Here is the current Udinese squad including players out on loan. Which of these will be added to the Watford squad as a token gesture in the New Year? Perhaps Brandon Soppy as we could do with some more soppy defenders.

Their squad is pretty rancid. Zeegelaar, Success, Pussetto, Pereyra etc.

I'd take Del back, but I dont think he'd be a starter at the minute.

Still on the pencil theme: William Troost-Eraserhead, a dark surreal nightmare involving mutant babies, a man with strange hair, and a lady who lives in a radiator, but that's enough about the Pozzo regime.
