2-0 flatters us. We really are rubbish aren't we? Never called for a manager to be sacked before but it really isn't working with Edwards I'm afraid.
A depressing loss away to Blackburn on a rainy Tuesday night with inexplicable linesman decisions. That’s proper football!
Another disgusting, disgraceful performance The 'best squad in Championship history' continues its predictable and inevitable slide towards midtable mediocrity Pozzo and Duxbury will pull the trigger on Edwards and the usual COGs will fall in line (with the aid of a timely Andrew French inside story on the bad mood at the training ground) to lay the blame solely at his door The club remains completely sick and rotten from top to bottom and nothing will change
Well there we have it. The consequence of dodgy deals, squad neglect, and consistent gaslighting by the board over the years manifested itself in a drab away defeat to Blackburn on a Tuesday evening. I don't think Rob Edwards is perfect, but I can see him being made a convenient scapegoat by the board in the coming months. The same old platitudes will be trotted out thinly pointing the blame towards him whilst no acknowledgement of the fact that our squad is simply not good enough to even be considered a playoff contender. The stench of toxicity lingering in the air is ever present until the Pozzo's either sell or sort their **** out. With that said, I'm not that arsed - I don't know if that makes me a bad fan or if I've reached an age in my life where other responsibilities that are more tangibly closer to my heart have my attention.
Well, after the Yoveil Town performance under Zola I did not think this side could play any worse. Tonight they topped that, so hat's off to the lot of them, that is quite a feat on it's own. Gold stars all around. First half - why did we even bother turning up? Most shocking thing is Blackburn failed to score at least three goals, finally netting just after the half hour with Cathcart and Kabesele playing musical statues. Nobody even attempted to cut out the cross or wanted to. Attack? What attack? Nothing. Zilch. We may as well of played chess on the coach all game - at least then a bit of logic and thought has to go into each move against the oponent. Edwards has either lost the dressing room or half these players don't give a toss. Gosling coming on in the second half just about capped off the game already at that point. Sarr was very quiet, hardly did anything. Best we got in the first half was Davis doing a 'Muff' and trying to win a spot kick - there was contact but it would of been very harsh on Blackburn had we scored it - not because we were going to, but because they deserved to be leading. Blackburn were everything we are not right now. Worked hard and defended (when they had to) with confidence at our shameful excuse of an attacking threat tonight. It's been heavily debated on the forum and other sources that we are in a false position in this division. We should be lower mid table, and that performance just about proved why. This team offers nothing too often, and it really looked like eleven plus shirkers who would of rather been elswhere. It's getting very, very hard to care about this side right now. I know last season was absolute toilet but let's be honest, we haven't exactly set this division alight either. Half of this squad would struggle in League One, let alone the Premier League. It's not all Edward's fault - but you have to wonder what the hell this squad does in training. We had no shape and didn't even want t the ball for most of the game. People will continue to point fingers at Pozzbury and rightly so, they are the main reason we are playing like a group of lost boys. But the players who we do have right now, are not good enough mentally let alone football-wise. It's been suggested we need a sports Psycholgist at the club, and it could be an idea. I feel sorry for the loyal hornets who traveled tonight, what a waste of money and an evening. Players' were toothless and Rob looked lost on the sidelines. We have a squad with no depth and the squad we had under Xisco would play this lot off the park every week to be fair. This could be our "Coventry" moment, where we go out on Saturday (if it goes ahead) and put six past Sunderland. It won't though. Some of that squad is still here, two years older and two years slower in body and mind. I really miss the Watford sides of old over what we have now. I'm not angry, I am just so, so bitterly dissapointed with the desire and energy. They didn't even try tonight, and we have over half a season to go. Two nil flattered us, we are leaking goals and nobody seems to give a damn apart from the fans'. For me, that is the hardest thing to take.
Good God that was sh*t. Bit better when we switched to 4atb in second half, which begs the question why Edwards has been so stubborn all season. Recruitment has been abysmal, but so has Edwards. Unless by some miracle there is big visible improvement in the performance in the next match, I really don't see a point in keeping him.
All this talk about being tactically flexible is basically Edwards' way of saying he's not got a ******* clue. I have absolutely no idea what style he's trying to achieve. The players for all their praise about enjoying life under him turn up to games like farkin' statues. Yet another Pozzo shocker of an appointment, and hopefully he'll stay true to form a get rid
Bayo is a hilarious footballer to watch attempt play football by the way, mind you he was largely invisible tonight.
Blackburn time wasting and gamesmanship was top draw 2nd half. And they got a set piece goal for thier efforts. If we hadn't played that abysmal 1st half then it might have been different as we would not have been chasing the game, but we were still looking lost in the final third. The 5 at the back cannot continue but I think there's bigger flaws in our setup. Edwards seems rabbits in headlights.
Mooney on commentary tried to spin it near the end by saying Watford were much better in the second half. Well they were with the different formation and Davis on but the fact is, apart from the disallowed goal, they never looked liked scoring in the slightest.
Would be hilarious but for the fact we spent FIVE MILLION pounds sterling for him. Seem to have a track record for this or Pizza does while he plays FM manager. EIGHTEEN MILLION for Gray.
Not sure it is fully down to the manager. First half we couldn't pass or control the ball in possession and just stood like statues in defence.
Not saying fully. But coaching involves showing the team where to pass and move to. Players acting statues is down to the coaching. I think they roll through moves on the training field but don't know what to do when there's big nasty defenders stood in the way. Pedro should have left.
When you see your team appear to have fewer men on the pitch than the other team it seems reasonable to assume your team are unfit or not interested. But I am beginning to suspect that it's because they don't know what they are doing. And that brings to mind the quality of the coaching. Mind you, players not being good enough is an additional possibility. I can't see Watford being close to promotion with these sorts of performance.
It was patently obvious under any press our CB's are useless. So have to play long. We did not play Davis from the start. And our midfield was going to be over run and was. He should have changed immediately. Better still he should have started with a back four. It's not helpful chopping and changing formation at the back or players. And of course if Pizza and Fuxbury had really helped they would have found a ball playing CB to come into the side. But of course those liars couldn't.
Yes seems so. https://mobile.twitter.com/SmithyWFC85/status/1569773516987170825 https://mobile.twitter.com/watford1881/status/1569789632925016070
Yup. League Two with Kabasele and Cathcart at the heart of the defence. Still five years down the road. Local man past it and still playing.

Y Ou coming months. I think coming days, weeks if Edwards is lucky. Rumours of training ground unrest take us back to the days of Ivic. We just love out club
I am starting to dislike Mooney. Never thought I'd say that. But he's so desperate to toe the party line. While dear old Professor Payne says it as it is even if he finds it hard to do so. Ten pounds wasted. Might as well have set fire to a tenner.
