The leagues' medical insurers should insist he doesn't play for a minimum two weeks in case he has concussion.

 

There's taking advantage but that abuses the privilege. Forget about a fine, the worst thing for him is something as stupid as that will always be remembered & his reputation is now tarnished by both fans & referees.

Having said that, it's no surprise he's turned into one of the superstars in that league, probably end up with a big money move back to the PL one day.

I liked Berghuis, clearly someone who wanted to play rather than soaking up all his wages whilst sat on the bench. I really respected him for taking a pay cut to play in his home nation but this is beyond pathetic. What does he actually gain from that apart from looking like a ****? If he did that whilst playing for us, i'd be embarassed. Ironically though, if he did that for Palace, he'd be loved so I guess it works out depending on the club you play at.

 

Very glad this colossal w@nker doesn’t play for us.

It always amazes me that professional footballers seem to completely forget that everything is recorded. They’re so thick that they only think about the advantage they may be able to gain in the absolute short term (however much of the game is left) and completely forget that it will be recorded from 10 angles and etched into the history books for the whole world to see for the rest of time.

 

A large number if professional footballers are still 12.

They've never needed to grow up, had everything done for them and never had to worry about money.

A wasted talent that never fulfilled his potential with us for whatever reason.

Capoue is correct it seems. Forgot that Villareal did so well in the UCL last season (as opposed to their recent success in the other UEFA competitions). 2 goals and 4 assists for him in last season’s UCL.

Berghuis was a bit of a mystery. High hopes with his family coming over to watch his debut, only to be sidelined and then shipped back off to Holland.

He seemed a bit harshly treated when here - showed some decent flashes when on the pitch but was never really given a chance. Didn't he have the ignominy of Amrabat being picked ahead of him?

 

Yes exactly the type of manager who hated a fluent attack minded wideman who'd take people on, get crosses in but occasionally loose the ball. Amrabat who did nothing with the ball other than to do his best to hold onto it was his type of man.

 

Didn’t really fit the system as he wasn’t really hardworking enough defensively but still had 2 assists in 3.6 PL 90s which if extrapolated across a season would have been exceptional. What a waste.

 

I remember he had a stormer in the Villa game immediately after the cup semi defeat, but Quique still didn't fancy him and kept him on the bench
