    He is.

However, Foster was currently first choice and disrupted plans with his injury. Whether or not it was caused by playing for Hashtag United is irrelevant, the fact that the club allowed him to go and physically play in a charity match before a game a few days later is ludicrous. Also in question is the professionalism of the player involved. But that’s nothing new.

What plans? The outfield tactics and gameplan won't have changed one bit. If I've read things correctly, Foster didn't train all/most of last week - happy to be corrected if that's not the case - which means the planning won't have been been disrupted that much as Bachmann would have been involved in the tactical/gameplan element of training which takes place normally on Thursday and Friday.

If it's definitve that he was injured in the charity game, then Foster and the club made an unbelievably stupid decision.

I've defended Foster, but that I can't and won't defend...especially on those stupid plastic pitches.

I still want Foster out, he's gash. Slightly less gash than Bachmann though.

Anyone got access to the Athletic article?

Leventhal rowing back on the Hashtag injury but still being vague.

How much is the majority of the week?

From Tuesday? Wednesday? Did he train on Monday?

    It's so poorly written.

    GoingDown "The Stability"

I haven’t seen the bit about not training all week but if that’s the case and yet he played both in goal and outfield for Hashtag United, that’ll about sum up everything we need to know about the way things are run and actually be even worse. Looks like we still have a few players who can do whatever they want.

I don’t disagree about outfield tactics but he’s the first choice keeper and in a time when our defenders are completely without ability and confidence, it’s fair to say that a keeper switch could have impacted our defensive performance. It was that bad. Not that I believe Bachmann was at fault yesterday.

Ain't seen nothin' yet to suggest he's a premier league quality keeper. B-b-b-baby.

I'd only say his decision making for the 2nd was questionable, however the same criticism can be levelled at Foster.

The 3rd, I'll assume it's a coaching decision not to have men on the posts, but I'm not going to judge him harshly on that.

  13. Since63

For the 3rd, Vardy was flicking the ball on towards the far post where they had 2 players charging in to put it into an almost empty net. If the attacker gets as clear as Vardy did and meets it properly, there is very little a defence can do about it if the attacking side has also loaded the near post area. The flick on either goes in (rarely) or creates a dangerous situation at the back post. On the balance of probability a man on the back post is less likely to be of benefit.

That's fair comment, I'm old school...men on the posts everytime.

  15. Since63

I'd still think seriously about a man on the near post though...very difficult for the goalie to get to a header going in close to there as he'll have to change direction if the header is back across him from beyond the centre of the area, whilst for any header from the near post region his path will probably be blocked by other players.

  16. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

    Hogg-DEENEY!!! Squad Player

Foster is more likely to do something like chuck the ball into his own net, or let in a header from 30 yards, but Bachmann is more likely to make those small errors which top players will take advantage of

Can almost see the yellow-tinged barrel of the gun pointing at the corner of that tweet - conflicts rather seriously with Leventhal's reporting of 'most of the week', and even completely taking my tin hat off and disregarding anything else, I can't imagine playing a charity game on a 4G pitch the day before would necessarily have helped him avoid such a strain taking place in training.

I see he’s responding to AL there, who in turn was clarifying he hadn’t meant to insinuate Foster got injured playing for Hashtag. Must have been some calls flying around to cause that coordinated response.

  24. Chumlax

Yeah, and I mean, even in that Leventhal isn't saying 'he didn't' - he just says he didn't report that it definitely did take place then.

Will give him the benefit of the doubt purely because Ranieri didn’t say he was out before the game so it could have been a late thing.

But he and the club must see how Foster’s decisions off the pitch are contributing to fans feelings and thoughts. He could easily have gone along to this event with his GoPro for an hour without playing.

I think he should be playing instead of Bachmann - and I’ve always time for Foster. But he’s increasingly becoming a bit of a plank who is treading an ever-increasing fine line of poor behaviour as a professional.

The man is clearly a complete and utter bell end who doesn't really give two sh*ts about Waford. He comes across as a bit strange to me as well.

Still, he won't care, because he's managed to coerce a load of low IQ, dribbling weirdos into plastering "omg cyclin gk! absoloot legend m8!" all over the internet every single time there's any mention of his name or even Watford.

We've gone from Deeney FC to Cycling GK FC. Kill me now.

Foster has one job for which in the grand scheme of things he is well renumerated. He needs to focus on that instead of his other sidelines. Once he retires he can do what he likes. For now focus on your job sunshine.

The replies on any Foster related thread on reddit are utterly cancerous - Watford fans giving their opinion (universally negative) and explaining why, and legions of random dicckheads downvoting them all to oblivion and replying with shyte about how it's 'in his free time' and accusing anyone annoyed by it of being an old person. Truly pathetic, and an amazing lack of football supporting empathy, for want of a better phrase.

    2) Cycling GK YouTube
