To be fair, YouTube may still have that internal glitch. It’s not like it’s a heavily used platform.

The additional traffic caused by the latest Foster upload won't have helped.

It was 2010, but he explained his family were Liverpool / North Wales based. Me, my dad and my wife have the ginger Viking gene so I left that aside. Too nice a bloke. His wife was lovely. And I’d never humiliate a dad in front of his kids.

It’s just not a coincidence is it? You’ve got to assume that for whatever reason he’s been told to take it down and either re-edit or find another format.

He’d have been better just pulling the video and not commenting. Saying he would re-upload it in 24hrs whilst blaming an algorithm glitch which no one else anywhere has reported just makes it look even weirder.

Before 'Greater London' was a thing, parts of Barnet were Herts I believe (and I guess you could argue still are, it's not uncommon for people from the far east of London to say they're from Essex for example), although since they've moved outside of the borough of Barnet, I don't think they have any claim to being from Herts

Boreham Wood are an established force at National League level, Stevenage are League 2 strugglers, wouldn't surprise me at all if Boreham Wood become Hertfordshire's #2 side very soon

Tue 21st Feb 1984 - Went in the West Ham end at Upton Park for an evening match v Watford, supposedly meeting a WHU fan friend who failed to turn up. I was with some woman or other.

It was one of John Barnes greatest games in yellow. We won 4-2 with 2 from JB and 1 each from Mighty Mo and Cally. We tore 'em apart.

West Ham fans were VERY unhappy. I restricted myself to a stifled 'woooofff' noise under my breath as our goals went in, but it must have been too loud because eventually a couple of those Hammer Black Cab driver types rounded on me and demanded to know if I was Watford fan.

I was like Judas and denied it more than three times. No, no. Me? No! Don't really support anyone me, just like watching football, you know ha ha ha etc.

Unfortunately the accompanying woman I was with boomed out 'Yes you are! You support Watford, you told me! Why are you saying you don't.'.

Fortunately the cabbies took pity on her thickness and gave her a Mars bar and left us in peace.

Also Carlisle away midweek evening game in the 1980s.

All the way up there and then got ejected for excessive jumping up and down as the teams came out...

Had to go around the other end and pay again to go in the Carlisle end.

We won 2-0. There weren't any problems.

As recently as this millennium I have seen people (including IIRC a Times journalist who ought to know better) refer to Barnet FC as a Hertfordshire club. I suppose there’s a small bit of Barnet (a huge area which you might say includes High/Chipping, East and New Barnet) that’s in Hertfordshire, the more northern rural part of the area between the A1 and A1000 and south of the M25, but there should be no doubt whatsoever that Barnet has always been a London club at least since Greater London was created; Underhill was in the London Borough of Barnet, which made it London. That’s the beauty about London, especially around the outskirts; you can walk through a heavily built up part dominated by office blocks and council estates and within half an hour seemingly find yourself out in the country. I was a student at Middlesex University when they used to have campuses all over London as opposed to just the Hendon one they have now, and I studied on the campus in the beautiful Trent Country Park; when you reach the northern outskirts of it, it really feels like you're on the fringes of Hertfordshire, but it's actually more green belt of which there is a lot of in the boroughs of Harrow, Barnet and Enfield.

Reading the twitter arguments about his YouTube are almost as cringey as his attempts to sound youthful. Apparently he's on top form, single-handedly got us promoted last season and is the only reason Watford are relevant. I bow to their superior knowledge.

I think its reached the point where Ben has to choose which he values more, Watford supporters or his YouTube followers. Unfortunately one is about 20,000 a week the other is 800,000 - I think the 'influencer' fame has gone to his head.

The trouble is, if he's released he will have even less to say to all his followers, and follower numbers and hits will drop. Better for him that he stays an active member of a prem squad.... and just backs off a little from irritating the pants off everyone.

Wouldn’t he still have quite a large subscription base if he was released?

I imagine quite a lot of his followers are Man U and WBA fans.

The CyclingGK would probably take a hit once he retires. A lot of football fans like the "fly on the wall" stuff and the inner workings at a football club, especially a perceived basket-case club like Watford. Those Amazon shows on Man City, Spurs, Sunderland etc were hugely popular.

However, Foster does have another channel called Fozcast. He actually rents a studio and has guests in to talk about things. Mostly it's football related, but I'm sure he'll go into this more and diversify with guests from other walks of life. His CyclingGK will probably continue but will just turn into a cycling channel, for biking enthusiasts.

Somebody recorded the video before it got pulled. The UFC guy doesnt feature and no fantasy team either which is strange as he usually does that every week.

Or heads back to the Championship in January so he can put his camera back in the goal and stop the ‘fan cam’ nonsense which is partly what has lead to this situation as it is now.

Offer him to WBA and go all guns blazing for Sam Johnston using the loan we took out yesterday and whatever money we got for Hughes. Hell, sell Bachmann too to raise funds if needs be and bring back Dahlberg as No.2

Yeah, as I mentioned, I saw it before he pulled it and there was no real content of controversy. And he was respectful about Liverpool afterwards without going OTT with his usual hyperbole comments.

I think it was the tagline he attached that made him pull it down as that did contain some brown-nosing of Salah etc.

I suspect he’s just been told that the feeling from fans in general isn’t great (more so after that game) so it might be best to rest it for a week.

I think he said before when he retires from football he will do loads of cycling events and rides .

When this started there was a lot more of that than all this celeb stuff ..

I’ve discovered the delights of Enfield recently after thinking it was mostly a dump like Walthamstow, I could hardly have been further from the truth. In addition to Hadley Wood and Cockfosters which I already knew about, places like Chase Side, Grange Park, Enfield Lock, Bulls Cross, Forty Hill, Crews Hill and Botany Bay look great places for cycling, with a fair few hills but nothing really strenuous going up them.

Dahlberg needs game time. He was No.2 / 3 for too long and cannot afford being backup now if he is to develop.

I desperately miss cycling. Used to get out a couple of times a week for long rides in the Surrey Hills and the Cotswolds - but since moving to NYC, it’s a long old trek out of the city just to get any kind of viable roads! Basically taking a train north upstate or south and completely out of state!

    Yeah I know:

I’m just saying theoretically, if we could entice Johnstone to come from WBA but needed to sell Bachmann to raise funds for it, I’d not be too keen on having Elliott on the bench. So if we had to get Dahlberg back in order to get Johnstone, then so be it.

In an ideal world, we wouldn’t need to sell Bachmann to raise funds and Dahlberg could stay put.

I suspect bigger clubs will be in for Johnstone anyway - and if not, might be tricky to get a GK at the top of the Championship to swap for the bottom of the PL!

I never realised how irritating he is. I think it's just his 'lads, lads, lads', 'banter' social media persona, as when he was talking to stadium staff and the post-match stuff he seemed alright. But perhaps that is what he's actually like. Christ.

    I miss Gomes.

Best for him to go to MLS. They probably wouldn't have same restrictions so he could get even more dressing room access, generate a fair bit of interest for the league, crap standard, go somewhere sunny so he can go on long bike rides, Americans love constant positivity and don't mind ostentatious shows of wealth like his trainer collection.

Not a bad idea. Give him to WBA and do a sensible package price for his natural successor, an international first choice keeper who will definitely one day be ok about coming for crosses.

Sam Johnston would be incredible, but we’re likely to be trading leagues with WBA fairly regularly. I’d imagine he’d have ambitions beyond WBA that aren’t basically a sideways move to a similar team, just as likely to be a league lower than a league higher next season.

Better luck than our trip up there on a Tuesday night in April 1979, going via the Supporters' Club special train. A round trip of over 14 hours, including quite a walk from the station to the ground in pouring rain, only to see us lose 1-0 in a really dire game. It looked like we were going to blow a second successive promotion until we won all 3 of our games in May.
