If true, I hope he has been given an excellent severance package as he deserves nothing less :dismay:

Lets hope the plan does not backfire. I feel sorry for Dyche he did a good job and should have been allowed to progress. He Understands the club especially the new players breaking through. I am very sceptical about Zola not a proven manager although i know dyche wasnt either but he knew the club when he took over.

It will be interesting as to how the players react to this, as I know they were very happy to play for him.

Poor Dyche, without him there would have been a strong possibility that we would be in League 1 which may have put the Pozzo's off buying us. He deserved a chance to let himself shine. But I'd rather us let him go before the season starts than him leaving three months into the season on a sour note. At least Zola can build a team his way now. Best of luck Sean, you shall always be a legend in mine eyes.

Bit of a shame this but I believe the right decision. It's clear that the Pozzo's want their own man so rather than wait for 3 months they let Zola bring in the players he wants in the coming weeks so hopefully we can hit the ground running in August.
    Good luck Sean

If true, i feel sorry for Dyche. A very promising young manager, a good servant to the club and was held in great affection by many in & around the club. But unfortunately a necesary casualty of the new regime's plan to take the club forward so it seems. Would love Dyche to have stayed but would much rather have a club to support at the end of the day

Totally agree with this. Dyche had to perform football miracles last season. The best placing in the league for years, outdoing both Mackay and Rodgers with a squad reduced of Graham, Sordell, Buckley and Cowie. Had a joke owner to contend with, and I believe very few managers would have kept us up last season. Dyche united the players and they played for him. Unless we build a completely new squad, which is very unlikely, there maybe a backlash to this decision.

Had Watford been relegated, then the Pozzo's would not have purchased the club, so they owe Dyche a huge debt of gratitude.

Having said all this, it's their club now and they will do what they feel will bring success to the club. Zola is a highly respected man, and none of this is his fault. I hope fans welcome him and we don't start on the back foot.

If true best of luck Sean for the future. You did a fantastic job for us with a far worse team than Malky or Rodgers had to work with!

I seem to remember West Ham being a well organised team in Zola's first season, this was disrupted during the fire sale second season.

My girlfriends dad supports West Ham, and has said Zola is a decent manager who was not really given much of a chance.

Without the Pozzo's though there was a very strong possibility we wouldnt have made it to the start of the season never mind which league we would have been playing in. Shame they couldnt have found a place for Dyche in the new set up, but like you say atleast Zola can his team in place before the new season kicks off

The most important thing is that we get behind the team, I can see some fans ready to get on Zola's and the teams back at any possible opportunity. Dyche was well liked but he isn't our manager anymore (allegedly) Zola is.

Sad to see Sean go but not unexpected as the Zola rumour has been around for weeks if not months. As a consequence I would expect Ian Woan & Tony Loughlan to go as well which is normal when a new broom sweeps in. Whilst we all have reservations about Zola, he is the obvious choice & for me the key appointment will be his assistantant. My bet is Kevin Keen, one of his coaches at West Ham who followed Clarke his old No.2 to Liverpool. He lives locally & of course his father Mike also managed the Horns in the 70's - I think Kevin was once a ball boy. Good Luck Sean, thanks for all you have don.e

Of course the Pozzo's have the right to do this, and I imagine they have done their homework, however I still think Sean should have been given a chance to prove he could handle the job and I am a little angry that he hasn't

I just hope Sean gets an excellent severance package and I wish him all the luck in the world with his future career, that is unless his new team is playing against us of course ;)

Having said all that, I am sure our club has a bright future, be it with Zola or another manager in charge, as at the end of the day no individual is bigger than the overall good of the club :italian:

I'm sure Dyche will be fine.

I remember him saying his bricklayer brother was struggling with 2 days of work per week.

    Puts it in perspective.

Sacked seems such a harsh word when he isn't being removed for poor performances like 99% of other sacked managers.

All the best Sean Dyche, you did a great job for us under severe limitations. Whichever club you take to Vicarage Road in future I will applaud you. Thank you.

    On SSN now.

  21. Now that all the Bazini sh1t is over, I have taken you off my ignore list, and I agree with every word of your above post. (I will also concede that you appear to have been right about Bazini all along - but without 'inside' info the vitriol did seem OTT)

I would however like to add that I am getting a bit weary of all this Italy/Spain nonsense - let's see how it all pans out before applying for dual nationality. Blackburn fans didn't start waiving Indian flags or dressing up as chickens, Villa, Liverpool and Manu supporters don't feel the need to wrap themselves in the star-spangled banner, and Chelski fans don't all go around stealing billions of state assets. No one here got circumcised as a result of Bazini taking over.

We are Watford, the 'orns, not Il Hornettos, not El Goldenos Boys; unless we want our identity to be more subsumed than it inevitably will be, we ought to keep this in mind.

Someone saying Dyche understands the decision and has taken it on the chin. I feel for him, I really hope he gets the forest job as a few fans are suggesting.

I think even had he stayed it wouldn't have worked. Zola will be a puppet for the new owners, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing looking at their success. He'll be a good coach and attract bigger names. I'm gutted for Sean but he'll be fine.

    that is intersting....

as others have said thanks Sean, you did a very good job and one day if we get to the prem, your hard work was the foundations to saving the club. if we had gone down who knows what would have happened.

sean has gone now we have to get behind Zola if he is to be the new manager....

Problem for me is we now have yet another season where we are rebuilding. This league is a ******* to get promoted from and I can't see that we will hit the ground running. What will happen then? Are Watford fans fickle? Is the expectation around here just shot through the roof? Is the 18 year old left back we get on loan from udinese going to be given time to settle in, or booed after 5 games?

I hope that in 6 or 12 months we're not looking back wondering what could have been if we kept dychey.

My second fear is that the like of Eustace and Doyley in his testimonial year get booted off too.

Don't give me the "without pozzo we would be in admin" because to complete that sentence you are saying "without pozzo we would be in admin, so it doesn't matter if they f*** around with our existing club, treating staff like ****".

I was hoping you'd keep me on your "ignore list". The past few weeks have been quite nice with no arguments, so if you reconsider this, I would appreciate it.

Anyway....where have I been pushing all this Italy/Spain stuff? Not sure I really have, but what's wrong with it anyway? I certainly think it's an exciting time and if anyone wants to embrace the new clubs we are now linked to then it should not be criticised.

We would have been rebuilding anway! Do you think if the Pozzos kept Dyche they would have told him to get promotion with the current squad? The club has started a brand new era, the building starts now to secure a future so we don't go through the same shyte every summer. And have they treated all the staff like ****? Or is just Dyche who's gone and now has a 1 year salary in advance?
