Classic Staffs pottery. It's all good. My mum's from Hanley and her side of the family worked in the industry. It's in the blood.

    BBC approved preamble:
    Bath 19
    Bargain Hunt Series 57
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000ryj2
Eric Knowles and today’s teams go bargain hunting at Bath Racecourse. In the running with the reds and blues are experts Stephanie Connell and Raj Bisram, and weighing up the odds at the auction is auctioneer Tim Weeks. Eric takes time out to look at surgical equipment from the past courtesy of the Bath Medical Museum.

    The Translation:
It's daily race time for Uncle Eric lurking in the paddock, who consults his race card for the Tat Handicap Chase over jumbled obstacles, this time at Bath Racecourse. In the stalls under starter's orders are old nag Dr Evil and young filly Our Steph. In the winner's enclosure handing out the prize rosettes will be Treepole Brough Weeks, with his distressed New Romantic hair style, let's hope nobody ends up in the Knacker's yard afterwards. One person's failed expert is another one's pot of glue. Take note Tragicooper.

    The Staff:
[Gaffer] Uncle Eric Knowles, as safe as houses, he does love a sausage
[Red Team Expert] Raj Dr Evil Bisram
[Blue Team Expert] Stephanie Connell, the Cockermouth Cumbrian, the Auction-world state-educated trailblazer, poster girl for The 93%
    [Auctioneer] Timpole Tudor Wunderbar Weeks
[Auction Location] Wessex Auction Rooms, Chippenham
    (Miserlin Rating: Unlisted)

    Start.jpeg Auction.jpeg

    The Teams:
[Red Team] Married couple, he's a bald hairdresser, amazing how many of those there are.
    (Challenge: Connection to nature)
[Blue Team] Husband & Wire, he works in a warehouse, and she does outreach.
    (Challenge: Georgian (Regency) period)

    The Shopping:
Reds: Silver Horse's head on a plinth (30 Challenge) topend, Set of 8 brass pine cone door knobs (25) profit all day long, Silver card case (170) Treepole loves it but ouch, overpaid.
Blues: Georgian silver snuff box (150 Challenge) good, Playworn Tri-ang bread van (45) OK, Pair of Vintage Teddy Bears (50) come and buy me.

    The Distraction:
Uncle Eric talks to an expert from Bath Medical Museum and hopes he can look at his equipment. Meanwhile it's mystery object time, it's long and thin, all covered in skin, red in parts, and goes into tarts. No, it's not a stick of rhubarb, it's Uncle Eric's penis. A Scarificator device for blood-letting and other torture devices are shown to him. Uncle Eric makes his excuses and scurries off.

    Distraction.jpeg

    The Auction:
Reds: Silver Horse's head on a plinth (evens stevens), Set of 8 brass pine cone door knobs (good profit), Silver card case (big loss).
Raj's BB is a pair of Lorna Bailey double-signed salt and pepper shakers (20), 15-25, 44. Great buy Raj. Spot on.

    CardCase.jpeg CruetSet.jpeg

Blues: Georgian silver snuff box (profit), Playworn Tri-ang bread van (small loss), Pair of Vintage Teddy Bears (small profit).
Steph's BB is a 1895 silver christening set of spoon and fork in a case (45), 30-50, 44. Good solid buy Steph but, unfortunately, it made a one squid loss. Never mind.

    TeddyBears.jpeg ChristeningSet.jpeg

    The Aftermath:
The silver card case sunk the Reds as they left buying their big item far too late, so overpaid. Raj comes up trumps with some classic ceramics. Blues undone by the battered bread van. A bit too playworn but they make a small overall profit, not to be sniffed at for an online only auction. Steph unlucky with the silver christening set, on another day, a decent profit would have been made, particularly if there had been an on-site Auction audience.

    RedWin.jpeg BlueWin.jpeg

    The Hi-Kick:
Outdoor Covid diagonal kick on uneven grass. Decent wobbly effort. Steph has issues with heels on that ground and so is forgiven.

    Ha.
My father, mid-70s, took his pliers to the ITV button on our Sony Trinitron so that we couldn't switch to it.
Had to go up to the attic to watch Corrie and Rising Damp on a secret b&w portable.

Disgraceful this by the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation. Why move the day's flagship program for a silly football game which didn't even involve our British boys?

Failing that, is it beyond the wit of FIFA to slightly extend the so-called half time break to 65 mins so that we BH fans could watch unmolested?
