I agree but I can't help thinking that as we've less than 8 HG players it wouldn't have hurt to have kept him in case of an injury/suspension crisis.
Great pro who would've done anything he was told without any fuss. Not sad to see him go however, because since being in the premiership my heart always sunk when I saw him coming on, especially If we were losing. Firstly because it was depressing to think that was all we had to come off the bench and change a game, and secondly because you knew that once he was on he would contribute absolutely nothing.
I've got a feeling he asked for a move sensing he wouldn't get much game time this season, Dowling hinted in much in his interview yesterday that this was the reason for the outgoings.
His first touch which resulted in the Deeeeeeney moment will mean he should be remembered fondly over time. Frustrating at times yes and think we're selling at a good time (before he loses his speed), but a good pro, seemed to be liked off the pitch, donated his shirt to charity so I wish him all the best.
This is a good move for Anya he was not going to bet too much game time for and he will do well at Derby he regularly used to rip championship defenders apart with his speed.
Always seemed like a good egg, and not the usual footballer 'type' obsessed with excess and flaunting their status. I wish him well. I think he's shown what he's really capable of more with Scotland than he has for Watford, but in fairness he never seemed to have a settled run in one position with us. If Derby play him and Vydra in advanced positions in the Championship, their pace is going to trouble a lot of defenders.
The only person now left at the club who was involved in the "Deeney goal", is Deeney! What a mad world we live in
Sounds like it was a bit of a slip up from the goalie but guess you still have to be there to take advantage etc.
As was proved at the weekend with Igahlo, sometimes you need a bit of luck to kick start your season.
