Not injured. Just not very good. Where did the original rumour that TC didn't want him and he was being sent back, come from ?
Believe there was multiple reliable sources on that one. Turns out it’s a case of take what you’re given and we can’t afford any better lol. Unless of course Tikvic managed to impress with friendly performances, can’t say I saw much in him from what I’ve watched. Comfortable on the ball but certainly some questions marks over his. defending
Fantastic. We can have the satisfaction of watching him cut his teeth in the world of professional football and get those "first season mistakes" out of the way, before sending him back to enjoy the rest of his career with Udinese.
I believe three of our four signings so far are players we tried to sign before TC took over. That’s not to say he didn’t want them of course, but the irons were in the fire before we gave him the job. (We tried to sign Tikvic last January but UEFA rules didn’t allow, we tried to sign Sissoko last summer but allegedly VI wasn’t keen, and we first made overtones towards Vata last December).
Backtracking led to their 2nd on Saturday but he showed his heart by getting booked 15 minutes later leading to an unsightly melee with players rushing over. Friendly - pah
Also notice how in the interview it says he’s been training with the squad for a week. So we can assume his announcement video was filmed about 3 weeks ago. Wonder what could possibly have triggered our announcement now…
Well I don't know about anyone else but I'm relieved. The marquee signing we were all crying out for.
Good that we now have TikVic. I’ve done my first video for it which is highly critical of the Chinese Government.
He was a bit shaky vs Gillingham and was partly at fault for the second goal but that's unfair to assume he is no good. If he gets a run in the team (which going by Heodt off to pastures new or reportedly so) and he will do, then he could impress. He's young so has time to better his game. A bit like Sissoko he's probably going to be more a squad player, although that would require to sign another player in this position for the first XI, which we won't do.
To be honest I don’t understand the big time negativity towards the lad based off off the likely 45 mins most have seen. He’s had quite the youth career and was at Bayern Munich just over a year ago. Let’s just give him a chance, he can’t be much worse than Porteous anyway
I look forward to him having a torrid time against MK Dons and returning to Udinese in January without making another appearance.
So, our first loan of the window, technically I think we can loan as many players as we like, but we are limited to 5 in a matchday squad. He's also 20, turning 21 in the second half of the season, does he count as an under 21 player as he's not our player, @simpleMASH?
He would count as U-21 if he was a permanent signing (anyone born on or later than 1st Jan 2003 - making them younger than 21 at the start of this calendar year), but I’m pretty sure loanees always take one spot of the 25 ‘senior’ player allocation.
Early suggestion for a Watty nickname for the lad: 'The Tiklemonster' When opposing attackers advance up the pitch and enter his general vicinity, the Rookery could all chant 'WATCH OUT OR THE TIKLEMONSTER WILL GET YOU' and wave their arms about in a fluid, uncontrolled manner reminiscent of his beloved picture book namesake.
