Why does the forum allow threads to be started which give no idea of the subject in the title, “Serious question” being the latest ? Could easily have been titled “Who should we sell in the summer?” which would eliminate the risk of any posters viewing the thread ready to give advice on the best potting compost for bougainvillea cuttings or cure for hiccups.
Because it doesn't come with any pre-defined titles for threads. It leaves that up to the creator to be astute with the title and put at least some idea of what the thread is about. It's very easy to spot a spam bot thread over one that a user has created. There is no rule as such in threads needing to have informative titles (there is a character limit) so it has to be kept brief and to the point in that regard. Are you suggesting we should implement a rule that thread titles should be more discriptive going forward?
I think I have fallen foul of the thread police !!! First they came for Burnsy, and I did nothing .......
**** off Ps I’m sure I’ve asked and you told me before but who or what is high sparrow? I need to understand my insults or they won’t have the desired effect !
High Sparrow was a background Game of Thrones character. Lectured his followers. Hectoring. Superior. I adapted him for your lecturing of the anti Pozzo mob (admittedly this comparison died a bit of a death )
We could have a compulsory poll rating the thread title on every new thread and anyone not scoring a 50% or higher, gets their thread deleted and a 1 month ban.
Hadn’t heard of him but from your description and what I’ve seen of the actor playing him, he seems a really interesting character. I’m a Game of Thrones fan (though I do have to be in the mood to watch it, more so than Breaking Bad) - season 4 in particular is amazing. But I haven’t watched the series beyond that because apparently it took quite a nosedive with Benioff and Weiss creating their own material that seemed to suggest they didn’t really get the GRRM novels and spoilt the characters, an opinion that seems to be shared among fans who haven’t read any of the books (even some GoT purists don’t like S4 that much because of the changes B & W made to the plot and characters). But maybe I should give the later seasons a go - season 6 sounds quite decent and the best of the last 4.
It’s been years but I remember High Sparrow being quite important. Had the young king’s ear and could get the people to overthrow if he wished. Was around for about a series and a half before Cersei blew his church up! Anyhow to me he will always be TuT on this forum
