The seer role definitely could have been taken advantage of on the final day, and I imagine if Tokyo hadn't had a busy day in work it would have been a tighter battle.

I was able to argue that the seer must've been either Denver or a wolf pretending to be Denver as they wrote 'bad news, it's me'. That wasn't the case, but Fes believed it (On Day 6, I actually wasn't sure if Cancun was trying to be helpful by sending a late wolf message or if we actually had a late seer).

In addition, mike's confirmation that the apprentice seer and back-up seer were the same thing looked pretty concrete that he had added one. I mentioned something about him only confirming the names were the same but I was clutching at straws really with that.
  2. I don't see how the late SEER role could ever have been made credible and therefore taken advantage of. It was far more likely to be assumed to be a wolf ploy for reasons given. For that reason if I had been given that "power" I doubt I'd have used it.
It was very clear that Mike's confirmation to a specific question was strictly that "apprentice seer and back-up seer were the same thing", and no suggestion that one might have been added.

I've never been a wolf before and some have said that being the Beta wolf is a lonely role. However the new role I played was very lonely because I had to avoid wolves' targets and find the wolves to help defend them.

The most fun thing was throwing Zagreb under the bus and Denver and Tokyo following me as some sort of white knight for team good.

You and Santiago being outed earlier resulted in you also being killed early, so that didn't help team good much either. Also, as you said, the possibility that you could have also been the Beta meant that I couldn't completely trust you anyway/

    Fes Academy Graduate

No I did not - I picked up on and questioned you on the fact that you had claimed it could have only been either Denver or Cancun; you had ignored the possibility that it could have been Tokyo for whatever reason. It became clear however that it was Tokyo, despite your claim.

That's not true at all either. All it did was clarify that one would have had to have been added at mike's discretion. I concluded that it therefore would have been unreasonable for mike to have at his own discretion added one by choice at such a late stage of the game.

That day I was convinced you were good, evil simply doesn't do that, same with Norn leading the charge. There's been a definite upgrade in tactics during lockdown!

Thanks everyone for playing, and really appreciate your kind words. I had a lot of fun, and I'm glad I moderated. I definitely think it has given me a different perspective of the game which I hope to use in future iterations.

I appreciate that for some, the backup seer call was too late. I disagree though. Having all of the information (and being (I hope at least) fairly adept at the game), I could see the way the game was going three days in advance. HT killed, Seer killed, Beta killed, SW killed, Fes or Tokyo lynched, evil win.

Tokyo was definitely going to vote for Fes on the final day - I have no doubt about that. He was honest in stating that he was convinced of Fes' guilt, including in personal messages with me. I think that Fes would have voted for Tokyo, but even if not, then Istanbul would have voted for Fes and evil would have won. A very clever pair of messages was the only way to stop a very quick finale on the final day.

When deciding who to make backup seer, I did toy with Denver. But I knew he'd be killed the second he was confirmed good on day 6, so they'd get one viewing before being killed. I also thought it was less fair, given he already had a special role. There was only one villager left, and that was Tokyo.

The unfortunate thing was that Tokyo was away from the game on day 6. If there was an earlyish message, then it might have baited Cancun to respond, which would have proved there was a backup seer. The message needed a hidden code, to distinguish it from the message which Istanbul would have provided on day 7, and convinced Fes to also vote for Istanbul. I gave good every chance to try to claw back victory from the jaws of defeat on the final day. Toyko's sudden change of heart was a big hint, but clearly not enough.

Future moderators might play it differently. My belief is I gave Good a chance and made the game more exciting (not many get down to the final 3), but others may prefer to play the final two days without any messages.

If I regret anything, it was actually threatening the inclusion of Masons in the Full Moon wolf pool. That led to a boring day where everyone suspected each other, and led to a pointless good kill which swung the game potentially too much in the favour of team evil. Without that (and all other things remaining the same) team good would have likely won, as Fes and Nairobi would have been able to confirm that they were definitely good.

I also left some hints in the write ups, which many seemed to either miss, or ignore. I'll list all of my nudges at a later point, but they included: i.e. the Late Saviour being dead, the Guardian being dead, the masons still being masons etc.

@miked2006 it was 6 days of fun, really enjoyed that one. The previous game not so much because personally I was having trouble getting used to the anonymous names, (and f***ed up badly). Now it's anonymous all the way which 100% enhances things.

One game in the future I'd like to see no gimmicks at all. One Seer, two Wolves and a traitor. That's it.

Agree. I like to switch between classic and more varied games, so am definitely up for playing a classic game (your last one was very fun). Varied games give more players roles, but classic games are more pure and can vary less through luck and intervention, so think both have a place.
  12. A few of us picked up on this and even discussed it on the days play.

Someone suggested the 2 remaining could've meant Santi and 1 other and I just couldn't understand Fes' weird posts so suddenly really mistrusted them and bought into this theory - especially when Fes questioned who to lynch between me and Helsinki which just seemed so odd.

Fes, the unfortunate reality of it was that if I hadn't been appointed back up seer, I would have voted to lynch you. I made that clear and Istanbul would just have agreed with me.

It was only because Mike allowed me a viewing that I realised my mistake.

So without a back up seer, evil would definitely have win. With a back up seer, good had a 50/50 chance.

Sorry again that I wasn't able to be online as much on Monday. That just couldn't be helped. Whether I'd have been able to better persuade you I was good and the new seer if I had more time, we will never know but I had run out of ideas.

Fabulous fun Mike. And much appreciated.

Thanks for running Mike. Shame I died on night 1 (I was Rio). I was the late saviour so was hoping to get to day 3!

People are becoming way too good at being evil players lol.
