I never die on night 1 so I guess it was overdue.
Was it a random stab in the dark?
Hi Venice. Pretty unlucky yesterday, as the sense I got was that you were bored and trying to move along the game...
A traitor would have tried to get people to go for someone in the messages surely?
I think the assumption was that a late vote meant you likely didn't have a special role. Which also cost @London...
I was genuinely busy with work and was worried about missing the voting deadline. 4-6 o'clock is when dinner and family things happen and I tend to get distracted, so with nothing of interest in the thread, I voted.
I stand by it. I don't think either of the named characters is likely to be evil and I don't think anything else that was discussed after I voted was useful, as I knew it wouldn't be on Day 1. Also, I believe a couple of other people did fail to vote, so shows I was right not to risk it.
Anyway, I think Team Good have lucked out and are on the verge of winning, through no fault of their own.
I would hope they vote for Istanbul tonight. I'm pretty sure Berlin is the alpha wolf.
I'll put this in spoilers in case people want to keep guessing, although I'd say it's fairly obvious what's going on from the gameplay.
Berlin is the Alpha. They were stuffed by a bit of bad luck, but also some bad gameplay (mentioning that their own message yesterday was probably that of the seer). They also killed the traitor, so it's been a pretty rotten first two days for them.
Coming out as the seer was probably required today, although it was potentially premature which will raise suspicions. Now they should probably push Istanbul for their role, and if they say they're an ordinary villager, they could argue that the safer option would be to kill the villager. If Istanbul was revealed as good tonight, then Berlin would definitely be up for the chop tomorrow.
If Berlin is the Alpha as you say, I'll be doing a Full Moon and converting a villager to a Tinker to prolong the game a little.
I'll probably either make someone who is seen by most as good, or a Mason, a wolf
I'd love it if you
Made Denver the new wolf. They have been such a loud mouth so far that it would be good to see how they completely have to change tactics.
Or someone else who is just as vocal in trying to steer team good the right way. Would be interesting to see them turn about.
They're on my shortlist. The only reason I'd hesitate is that Denver has been defending Berlin today, by asking for players to wait for their viewpoint before voting. This might get them a view tomorrow.
There's another option I could pick, who would also flip the game on its head.
Irrespective of Berlin's allegiance, it's by no means a fact that the wolf has to pick someone as evil. Picking someone as Good, arguing that both names are likely Good, and then turning on the player who argues for the evil player to be killed, might have been the better play.
Also, the stats assume randomness, when this game is anything but. Plenty of players are trying to further their own agenda
(hence why Berlin was caught out in the first place).
Very sad news about Berlin. Explains their relative lack of fight/ some mistakes.
From experience, saying that you are withdrawing nearly always gets you booted. If they had given the same message, but said that he wouldn't be able to play for the rest of the day and that the village really didn't want to take out the seer, they might have been able to survive and take out two goods doing so.
Marks will go to the first person to spot the new wolf!
I'll take a pot shot at
They already have a special role
Lol from Istanbul: "Important to remember this is in place today:
I'm afraid not
I gave a bit of a hint to this in the write up of your death, but no one picked it up (probably because they couldn’t be bothered to read it).
Second message coming soon.
Do not scratch your eyes.
The new alpha didn't post earlier, as they thought that the full moon wolf became the alpha.
They are now considering whether to post a message at all, given it would be obvious that the second message would be from the wolf.
If I were them, I'd be tempted to use the message to instruct who is going to kill Santiago (so they get two kills tonight).
They sent me a message saying they may provide a message if and when Zagreb appears, to frame them, which would also be pretty funny.
If the alpha is yet to post, I'd provide a message at the end of the day, saying:
"Dear villagers. This is your alpha. I have viewed X and they are evil. Kill them anyway.
P.s. I'm going to kill Santiago tonight, so please say your goodbyes"
The new alpha has played a blinder there.
It's obviously a wolf message and obviously sent at a time to frame Zagreb, but expertly timed and will buy evil 1 or even 2 nights.
My guess of the Alpha is
I think they have been subtly making the sort of suggestions to throw the loudest posters onto the wrong scents all through today's thread.
Denver sticking their neck above the parapet there. Let's see if it backfires.
The alpha was very lucky as they had decided to post a message before Zagreb came online, and had essentially already constructed it. I'm not sure they even knew that Zagreb had posted when they gave me their message.
If they were reacting to Zagreb's arrival, I'm sure they wouldn't be able to get the message to me in less than 2 minutes
Moscow just mis-spelt Fes' name as Fez, as the wolf did in their message. I assume the village will pick up on that, and that might be curtains for Moscow.
Just realised that this plan wouldn't have worked, as the village don't realise that the saviour was killed on night 1.
A hint was left in write up at the beginning of day 2, but perhaps it was too subtle.
Well, I haven't read all of the posts, but I think Evil have just swung the odds back in their favour. Tomorrow will be about Fes and Zagreb. I hope the wolves are smart enough not to target them tonight.
Evil have a strong, experienced team now. They keep going for the same kills however, which is playing into Good's hands.
I don't think it is giving too much away to say that I made an ordinary villager a wolf at the full moon. However, having the mason in the potential pot definitely has played with their confidence, who before were running the game somewhat.
If the game swings more towards evil, I'll start making more hints in the write ups that
two masons are still alive.
Well it was fun whilst it lasted! Knew I wouldn’t see the game out once it was common knowledge that I was good! Annoying that @Jeddah didn’t post yesterday and was killed off as I would have protected him overnight...
Managed to get a great pick in guarding Santiago yesterday morning - but I also fear I may have protected a Wolf last night in Helsinki, before returning home only to likely be killed by him or another wolf!
For what it’s worth, I’ve been very very dubious of Istanbul and Denver from the morning of Day 1.
Morning Quito. I'm not sure the village has seen my clues in the write up about the demise of the Guardian. They'll probably be shocked to find no save tomorrow morning.
Although saying that, don't think they've even mentioned the lack of Late Traitor (killed on day 1), so they might not even notice!
Might be fun to give your predictions. Who are your suspects for:
2 remaining Masons (a lot harder)
Seer - Tokyo
Alpha - Helsinki
Beta - Istanbul
Traitor - Denver
Masons - Cancun, Nairobi
Sorry forgot the Shaky witness
I'll go with Athens.
Think tonight will be the end of Zagreb. Think he's good but is getting stitched up and he's walked into it a couple of times.
I've not been paying that much attention to be honest. I just skim read the last page most days. It's probably for the best I was killed off on day 1.
I'll try and read through today and post my guesses.
The game is coming along nicely now. A bit of information about the Shaky Witness.
One of the current suspects is the Shaky Witness. They were provided with the name of the then Beta, now Alpha.
The pot of names given to them included the Seer (Alive), Guardian (Dead), Alpha (Dead), Beta (Alive), Harlot Traitor (Alive).
If the Seer dies tonight (certainly possible) and the SW survives, then the SW will have the name of a guaranteed Evil.
The HT is making slow progress too. They know the new Alpha, and suspect the new Beta (but haven't visited them yet). If one/ two wolves visits them tonight, and they visit the beta, then evil will be in a very strong position.
The Shaky Witness is now key to this game for team good. If they outlive the seer, they have the name of either the Harlot Traitor or the Alpha.
The HT has messaged me saying the name of the person they wish to visit tonight. That person happens to be the seer.
So we could have a unique situation, whereby a wolf could be worse off for killing the seer tonight, as they could kill the HT AND reveal the name of the Alpha tomorrow (if people believe the SW).
Sorry about my low post count this game. Was a villager again for like the 4th game in a row haha so just wasn't much I could add.
Bubbling up nicely now though.
