On the heels of losing his HRH titles, the sweatless one is now demanding a jury trial in the US. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-60149024 Have to say, his legal team's arguments about his accuser not having legal standing seem desperate and don't do much to make him look not guilty. I'm starting to think this is going to go very badly for him. Only a civil suit, mind, so no jail time on offer here. But even after losing his titles, the blowback on the Royal family is probably going to be enormous.
Less so if he takes his old service revolver and pops out into the garden for a 'short stroll'. Like in the old days. N.B. This is an observation, not a suggestion.
Which he is getting anyway, It'll be a deal on the courtroom steps. In other whoremonger news: one of the items on this week's "Daily Show" was that Ghislaine Maxwell is going to 'name' the eight un-named figures in the sealed court document from Epstein's court case. EDIT: From the world's 2nd best webs(h)ite:
Everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. And given that he receives royal protection his whereabouts at any given time is under someone's watch, so Dixon of Dock Greens overtime docket should be able to prove his innocence. Or not .
He was never going to let it get to court if a settlement was on the table, so unsurprising really. I'd imagine most people reackon he's guilty at this point anyway, and a civil case was only ever going to give her a monetary award at best, so from her perspective it makes sense to settle if the offer is decent. Certainly doesn't make "The Firm" look good, probably why they stripped him of everything they could weeks ago.
I'm kind of disappointed tbh though. She claimed it wasn't about the money but it was to get her day in court and the truth to be heard. I guess everyone has their price and I don't blame her for taking the money rather than risking a court ruling "the wrong way".
Agreed, but the whole "day in court" thing was probably just part of the strategy to make the defence sweat and ensure a higher settlement. Chances are she never meant it. It'll be interesting to find out how much the settlement was for, when it inevitably leaks. Unfortunately it's starting to look like Maxwell is going to be the only person really held to account for Epstein's misdeeds.
10 million quid is being banded about but this could just be a guestimation. Money indirectly out of the civil list well spent no doubt. Hopefully, Maxwell will now feel the full force of the law. That is one hell of an odious family.
Who's to say that these won't still come out. It'll be open season just like a straightfoward shooting weekend.
I'm assuming that's just her compo for her legal fees... There's the charitable fund and then the compo for all the distress caused by his legal team. I imagine the NDA will be extremely restrictive and watertight.
Hmmmm... I'm certain that all of the lawyers would have stipulated that any public disclosure of the figures involved would render the NDA void with repayment/financial penalties. Don't forget that Andrew is so thick/entitled that I'm expecting to full grisly details to come out within a year. Still, and means that the $10 million is totally credible. It's well worth seeking out Bill Maher's questioning of Meghan Kelly over her settlement with Fox...
