Almen Abdi joins Sheff Wed

a) Just his starting position, he played more centrally later

b) Note: Not as a full back

c) The left is very much not the right

They clearly need Parades and Arklaukis to tighten up at the back.

 

It's also not too late for them to put in a cheeky bid of £8m for Nyom. Depends if they have any ambition or not.

At Championship level, if you have Abdi in your squad and you're not playing him in central midfield you're an imbecile.

 

Playing Abdi in a wide midfield position should carry a 2 year prison sentence.

 

Wing back => capital punishment.

 

I expect they'll play him in CM eventually. Not sure why they didn't against Burton though

Wednesday have been shocking these last two games and for some reason we are playing Abdi wide left. Don't have a clue why. The odd occasions he's drifted into the middle he's sliced defenders apart with his quick passing and dribbling. Such a waste having him out wide he's totally ineffective.

His ability is clear to see and we need to do everything to accommodate him in his best position, even if that means dropping players who seem undroppable.

 

You're still not going up, so I wouldn't worry about accommodating too much.

 

Why is it that fans can clearly see this, but managers can't? An Almen Abdi in the middle of the park, controlling play, spreading the ball and supporting the strikers, is a thing of beauty, put him on the wing or like our manager did for some bizarre reason at RB and he is ineffective.

 

Came on as a right back today I think at 76 minutes.

Poor Almen, maybe his powers really are dwindling.

They're actually quite supportive of him in the main, there are lots of comments about him being played out of position and that he'll come good in time. You've just selected the all of the worst comments for some strange reason.
