He's played principally as a CF this season and appears very much a CF from his recent highlights. I'm not particularly impressed by him watching his highlights, he definitely fits in to the "cheap punt for a 3rd choice striker" category of player. His technique seems a bit clumsy and he seems a bit ponderous with the ball at his feet. The positive is that he seems to have decent off the ball movement and and a goalscorer's instincts. Overall he appears comparable to Gray but a marginal improvement (not a high bar of course). 8 goals in 25 starts for the team 3rd bottom in the Portuguese League. The article above says that if Boavista get relegated he will leave, but surely if we really wanted him we'd likely be able to get him for cheap even if they don't go down? Boavista's fate doesn't seem as if it will be decided until the end of May anyway. It's good to know we're looking at cheap punt striking options, and the Portuguese league, but as I've said before if we go for a striker from there I'd hope it would be Seferovic first. Here's a highlights vid: And here's s a highlights vid from Boavista's game last week where Elis scores 2 goals (and Carlos Jr of Santa Clara who I've mentioned as also being a cheap punt option scores 1 goal plus misses a sitter): As a side-note, Santa Clara seem to have a picturesque little stadium out there in the Azores.
Used to play for Houston in the MLS. He was fun to watch at that level. Doubt he’d be much good in the EPL, but he’d be a bit of a wildcard off the bench. Need better.
Watched a minute of the first video and it’s a no from me. If a ‘skills clip’ of a player is half filled with him on the floor then we’ve already got Success with a similar highlights reel. although it would be entertaining to have them both upfront together!
Envious that you have a MLS team. Lucky sod! Closest to me is Chicago Fire, which would be the equivalent of supporting L*ton in these parts.
My wife loves watching Chicago Fire. It's got Billy from neighbours in it. She likes Chicago PD and Chicago Med too.
I tried really hard to follow them closely when I first moved here, and with the opening of the new stadium downtown during a successful time on the field, it was easy to stay interested. Lost touch over the past 4-5 seasons, and as the team struggled, any buzz generated in the city for the team has slowly died away. I’m trying to get back on board this season.
