Yes they could but they want to do permanent deals to fund buying Zaha back from Man U, and that's the other reason its taking a bit of time.
Looking increasingly unlikely. 6 hours left. Unless it's loan then we can try again next week. Wanted him in the squad for Blackburn though.
Had a rare update, we are absolutely DESPERATE to make something happen today, and we are certainly trying to get two deals through; the club were very confident of signing Moore and Guediora prior to today and I think they have been taken back by the fact the deals were much harder to get through than first thought. What's so frustrating is this is the closest we've had to the perfect blend since the takeover, I really feel like we are one centre back and one centre mid short of really doing it this year.
They're probably holding back to try and squeeze us for as much as possible. Buyer desperation near the end of a window = more cash.
Thx for the heads up, YK We ve still got the emergency loan window to sign them if we cant do it today
Why on earth would they be confident about that when we already had one advance rejected? Hope they haven't put all their eggs in one basket in regards to signing a new CB
Probably because Moore isn't getting game time recently, they just signed Huth, and Upson just came back from injury.
Well he's always at least on their bench (except Saturday as he was injured) and has started a fair few games including their recent FA Cup win so he'll likely feature in their next FA Cup lineup. Upson is probably behind Moore in the pecking order anyway and injury prone so doubt that was ever going to change their mind. Given the fact they rejected our approach today its obvious that it was wrong to be so confident.
Just hoping they have also been targeting another CB and not relying on the Moore deal! Although in my opinion AG is more important
My imaginary source has informed me that we have about a twenty percent chance of signing him tonight, and this is diminishing by the second.
Every fresh post in this thread makes me think it's been confirmed. I don't even know why I'm desperate for him to come back. It's not like he's Chalobah or Assombalonga or something.
Perhaps we'll get him on a season-long loan instead. I'd be hugely surprised if we didn't at least get SOMEONE in on loan, even if it's within the next few days. That'd allow clubs to weigh up who they can afford to loan out after their deadline day activity.
