Very true we haven't. But imo he will outscore everyone of our forwards. No not the highest bar set by me I know.

I don't reckon he'll score more than two or three this season but that still makes your statement correct

£15m pays Deeney and Gray’s wages for 6 months

Ouch. That makes it all the worse.

Alan Nixon reporting the deal is £15m + Obafemi (who Saints value at £6m). Not a chance we could come close to that.

Well i rate Perica Success and Gray at 20m - so that plus 10m is an even better deal for them

Two main reasons. One their turnover is a lot higher than ours-in last 5 years its nearly £700m v £615m so their losses are after paying high wages. Secondly player purchases do not pass through the P+L account-only the profit or loss when you sell them. Clubs have to pay a mixture of cash up front and then instalments for the remainder so when you have to meet that obligation you either borrow or pay more cash out. Over the same period we had a net spend of around £200m v CPFC of £120m.

On the face of it by paying higher wages to get players in and not spending as much on transfers as us you can have less debt. Plus they were in the PL for 2 years longer than our 5 year stay.

Also losses are after the charge for amortisation of player purchases which is a non cash item so for Palace after 7 years in PL they may have made total losses of £140m but this is after amortisation of nearly £230m so their cash generation (before player purchases) was nearly £90m positive
