Good move to get him some game time. It may benefit us in the medium term so that he does get the experience needed to come to us or it inflates his value.
Anyone happen to know if the 2-year-naturalisation requirement for Spain is cumulative or continuous? EDIT: it's continuous. Bugger.
would be astonished if the Pozzos made a basic error like that - i suspect there is a plan - he had at least 3 spanish clubs after him on loan when Udinese took him - so my guess is that there is a loophole
Club confirm he's gone there on loan for 6 months with an 'option to extend the terms' if both clubs agree. https://www.watfordfc.com/club/official-adalberto-penaranda-loaned-malaga Pretty opaque way of writing it, could mean anything.
Despite what that footballitalia website says the Malaga official website is clear the option is to extend the loan for next season, not to buy. Realistically he's not going to be playing here before 2018/19 at the earliest.
I don't understand the work permit thing. He's owned by a Premier League football club, his country is top 60 in the world, he's clearly "special talent", he's lived in Europe, what exactly is the problem?
I read that his country is actually 75th in the FIFA rankings, which is one of the main reasons he would struggle to get a work pemit. The power's that be in the UK wouldn't make it easy. I think though he'll be entitled to a Spanish passport at the end of this season though (now he's back in Spain), which could make things easier regarding the work permit. Unless we do something like leave the EU, oh wait...
Shop window for a team like Barca or one of the madrids to come in if he does well, never will play for us
