Entirely depends on the league he is playing in. Some leagues have caps on non-EU players, for example. It opens up possibilities and removes work permit considerations, making everything easy.

Sounds like his application for a work permit has been turned down then.

Peñaranda took one look at Dryworld's Watford concoction, threw up all over the floor and right then and there refused to come to Watford. Sensible decision IMO.

Do other clubs have this continual undercurrent of innuendo and mystery about their players? Juan Fruan, Peneranda, Success, Jolevas etc. Players who are signed seemingly without their knowledge, or with no intention of playing for us?

What happened to the old fashioned, club and player agree terms, player moves scenario?

I'd also argue that I expect that he wouldn't get in the team in a 352 which will be our main formation I suspect, and would be a rotation option with Sinclair, Success, and Berghuis in a 433.

Watching him a fair amount last season, he is still really raw and needs minutes. He goes missing for long periods and holds on to the ball for too long, so I'm actually pretty glad that he will develop elsewhere first before coming into our team.

It's a meltdown!!!! Good luck to the lad, if we get £40m for him next summer I won't mind.

If he is a success at Udinese he will be sold to one of the big boys. If he disappoints in Serie A then he won't be good enough for the Premier. I can't see any way we will ever see him at Vicarage Road except perhaps playing against us.

If he develops as hoped, and we finish close to the top 6, he'll be here. If we wallow around the bottom half or he doesn't progress, he won't.

If he does come here, he might not stay long. The best way to maximize the return on him is have him come here - have his "Ronaldo-like" year in the EPL for us and *then* sell him to Barca, Real etc..

But honestly, if he starts getting 1 in 2 for Udinese, why wouldn't he come here? It's better for everyone. Biggest stage in the world. Best way to get the wages he wants and the transfer fees his agent wants - and perhaps, the profits the Pozzos want.

If he does well at Udinese they will buy him for £8m and then sell for £40m and we won't see a penny

    Good for all I think.
Of the two promising lads WE (Udinese) had initially bought and sent to Granada to develop (too much too early, almost), you have Success, somewhat less raw, more muscular and probably excellently already suited to PL. We have the one quicker and maybe, at the moment, more useful in serie A (beyond possible VISA problems).
Now if all goes for the best:
    - two or three excellent seasons for Success at WFC before moving to one of the "bigs" for his weight in gold.
    - 1 or 2 excellent seasons for Penaranda at Udine, then 1 or 2 at WFC to show to the world he's good also in the more physical PL, then same as for Success.
In the meantime, hopefully, they both will be extremely useful on the field.

Good for all parties. I would have preferred him to go out to another Spanish club for continuity, but games are games, and he'll get them in Udine.

It's imporant to remember that we signed him for: a) his potential, and b) with one eye on a season where we may lose one or both of Deeney and Ighalo.

As it happens, it looks like we're keeping both and adding Success, Sinclair and maybe Vydra to the mix. It doesn't make sense to keep him here and stop the kid from playing football.

    Good move.

Deeney, Ighalo, Success, Vydra, Oulare & Sinclair all vying for what looks set to be two attacking positions.

Berahino deal still in the works too so this makes sense.

    Deeney: Starter
    Ighalo: Starter
Success: Barring a bizarre occurrence, 1st option off the bench. Makes the team.
Sinclair: Potential starter depending on formation, competing with Vydra, Ambrat. Likely makes the club.
Vydra: Potential starter depending on formation, competing with Sinclair, Amrabat. Likely odd man out - sold or loaned.
Amrabat: Potential starter depending on formation, competing with Sinclair, Vydra. Makes the team unless someone offers lunatic money.
Oulare: Needs minutes. Barring a massive breakthrough in training camp, likely loaned with a recall option.
Berghuis. Potential starter in the right formation. Makes the team.
