Nabizada is going to be some player. We should extend his contract asap. Okosun also looks promising, surprised he hasn’t featured on the bench for the first team yet.
Fantastic performance. Well deserved I think. 2 good goals and some nice play . Keeper pulled off decent saves too .
Was there for this one, friend had epileptic fits though so missed last 20 mins and just got back. Really liked the look of our Okosun, very good at holding off centre backs, linking play and having a shot. Would benefit from a men's loan spell but very promising to me eye. Nabizada was electric. Our football was fun and coherent, Soton couldn't handle us for long periods of the game.
Great week for the club winning the derby and cementing Luton's place to the bottom of the league and reaching the semi finals of the FA youth cup. I agree I initially come on to share how impressed I have been with Okosun in the the games I've seen him. Agree with your view about Nabidaza as well he looks like he could develop into a very exciting player, he is fun to watch.
Hope they are well . Yes we definitely seemed to generally on top and had the most efforts . Certainly was a lot of good open attacking play .
Are these guys still at an age where a prem club can come and cherry-pick the best players or are we past that hurdle? Sounds like we have a couple of promising prospects, ……or the prem clubs do.
Nabizada and Okosun are at least on pro contracts, so no they can’t be signed by other clubs until their contracts run out (2027 and 2029 respectively)
Well done to them all. Another fantastic win. This is proving a great cup run. @PowerJugs As others have already said, I hope your friend is ok this morning.
Haven’t really watched but who does Nabizada play like? More like a further forward Louza or closer to Abdi? (As heard both mentioned by people who know this sort of thing)
Anyone else watch this last night? Another great win in an excellent few days. I don't follow youth football so much, but it seems we were the underdogs. We dumped out the 'orrible Spuds in the previous round. Full match is on YouTube and a good chance to get a better look at some of the players on the edge of the 1st team such as Massiah-Edwards and Nabizada. https://www.youtube.com/live/R1dzTTB0xtU?si=2tZ0s9yOo7HTgbeP The former looked pretty good, although a bit lightweight. Probably the most impressive was the number 9, Okosun. A big lump who put himself around well. It'd be interesting to see him get a chance for a few mins with the big boys at the end of the season if we've got nothing to play for.
I saw most of this, from just before the Southampton equaliser. I thought their boys looked generally bigger than ours but favoured a slow, steady game while we employed a nippy, quick-passing game, which was very pleasing to see. The last few minutes of the first half in particular were very impressive when two great chances were created but missed.
Yes they wanted to build from the back which I guess their first team did under Russell Martin but we pressed well and caught them out .
I think our coach deserves a lot of praise, you only had to see how disappointed Southampton's players were at the end of the game, they were expecting to win and never really got to grips with our intensity! We scored at good times and missed two chances which I'm sure Southampton would have scored from but apart from their goal (which was given to them when our keeper spilled a shot) they didn't have any other chances. Good luck to the boys in the next round!
Its good news that both Nabizada and Okosun are under professional terms already, as they will definitely be attracting some admiring glances. The one worry with Nabizada is whether he is going to be strong enough to jump up to first team level. He is rapid and has incredible feet, but he is small.
That Hamer at SU is no giant ! Low centre of gravity can be helpful for nippy CMs though i doubt he will be much good attacking or defending corners !
Very true. You only have to look at some of the best players ever to have graced the hallowed turf to see that size isnt everything (Messi, Maradona, Iniesta etc). I just worry that he gets absolutely smashed by some big ugly championship midfielder from somewhere like preston!
