What is everone partial to in the beverage department?

I likes my real ale but also into my bourbon and Tennessee Whiskey.
I've currently 10 different ones on the go.

I'll take a GnT but not really into the posh flowery or fruity ones. A Gordons & Shweppes will do me but I find I drink it like lemonade.

I’m afraid I’m a lager drinking heathen. Current favourite is the Innes & Gunn Lager Beer.

I do like a good negroni on occasion and a G&T. The Malfy pink grapefruit Gin with the London Essence company (it’s just a cover for Britvic) Grapefruit and Rosemary tonic is absolutely divine in the summer.

Gin and Tonic. Also quite like White Wine but it give me a headache after a while so only at Christmas.

I'm afraid I'm a lager person as well although I'm quite partial to an IPA now. Camden Hells do a good range. There was one IPA in the Oddfellows that I had after the game vs Brentford but can't remember what it was called

More an ale fan these days as lager bloats me too much but I am partial to a pint of Harbour Lager. Tring and Vale are my go to breweries at the moment.

Gone right off gin after accidentally doing a bottle of Parma Violet gin in about half hour on a zoom quiz during the pandemic.

Straight Irish whiskey (or malt Scottish whisky if not).

No water, no ice and no mixers. A decent whiskey needs no accompaniment.

This thread has made me think I should shift over to real ale from lager.

I do like Scotch Whisky half neat/half with a drop of water as God intended or a good red but find both inevitably give be a headache so don't really drink them anymore.

Anything bitter, dry or sour for me.

Love a whiskey based cocktail, a negroni, good old London dry gin and tonic, anything with Aperol or bitters and of course a nice dry white wine.

Beer is my main indulgence and there’s some superb breweries in Leicestershire including this place; https://roundcornerbrewing.com/ A five minute walk from my house and they hands down make the best beers I’ve ever tasted. Heartily recommend you try some if you see them at a food market or beer festival.

There were lots of Sweatie ex-pats in Lithuanian and as such we all used to drink some seriously good whiskies (especially when we still had access to the duty free Whisky shop in Heathrow). One guy was from a seriously well-to-do family and we used to laugh at him for always adding the merest splash of well*/mineral water to his dram - he explained that it "...lifted..." the flavour. We tried it and suddenly all of the skirt-wearers (and I) were following suit...

*As Lithuania is mainly extremely sandy soils the water (especially freshly drawn well-water, not that uncommon even in the capital) has an unbelievably high iron content, much higher in fact that would be expected from a UK supply through Victorian iron mains. It also accounts for some of the shocking Lithuanian (what we we used to refer to as) 'natural' dental work. Judging by that I would say that tap water was more than good enough.

After reading this thread I've suddenly got a craving for a pastis/Ricard/Pernod (or Ouzo at a push) over too much ice topped up with water (I have a 'proper' Ricard glass).

Vocation Heart and Soul. Session IPA, gluten free, vegan friendly - I can drink 20 cans and feel fine the next day. And it tastes great.

Had a fried egg lemon meringue sour the other day, wasn't as bad as it sounds. Also means we have hit peak craft beer.

For Watford based beers, Pope's Yard (formerly of Whippendell Road, now Apsley) are very good.

I'm going to drink 20 cans of this tonight and if I have a hint of a hangover, I'm going to drag you through the courts.

I like an IPA or an amber ale if I’m having a few in the sun.

Woodford Reserve do a double oaked Kentucky bourbon I like in the evening on occasions.

Houston had some good breweries that put out a load of variety through the year.

One just opened up a few minutes from me, looking out over the water on Lake Houston, which has great food and an outdoor play area for the kids. It quickly became my favorite place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

A few pints of bitter or, if the lavatory is more than a few feet away, glasses of red wine for me, please

"Craft Ale" more often than not seems to be an excuse to chuck 20 different types of hop at an overly alcoholic yet otherwise utterly tasteless beer. Generally drunk by the sort of person that "Vapes" and holds their mobile phone horizontal like a waiters tray on speaker, because that's what they do on the aprentice.

A little water in a single malt aparently releases the oils or some other such bullpooery. Not a fan of the Scotch or Irish but a Bourbon I'll drink neat in a fat bottomed heavy glass so I can warm it in my hands to release the flavour.

I heard Ouzo can get you drunk the next day when you have a glass of water... I dont know if this is true or a nonsense family tale passed down on my wifes side.

Can't drink anything where I can smell the alcohol now, thanks to the events of my 21st.

Mostly beer (microbreweries, primarily) and wine for me nowadays as a result.

I’m a cider man - Magners (on tap), Aspall or some of the independents you see on tap sometimes are very good.

Unfortunately beer bloats me out entirely.

If spirits have to be drunk then I have a bottle of Pusser's old school Blue Label rum which has now been rebranded 'Gunpowder Proof' Black Label. Stick in a single ice cube to take the edge off it otherwise the indigestion will be legendary. Pusser's 15-yr old "Nelson's Blood' is regular strength and very smooth. Any spiced rum should be instantly poured down the drain. Disgusting.
