Fitz, how has Chippen done since joining the Galaxy?

Poxy wannabe Irish-Americans and their love of Celtic. Bloody annoys me.

All old country Scotsmen and Micks, and all over the age of 40. Americans can't be bothered with Scottish League, especially now that their league is down to one team.

Good start, scored in his first game, then had a good next appearance, then didn't see much time until a few weeks later and last night's game. He came on in the 75th' and completely blew no less than THREE wide open shots on goal as San Jose counterattacks left their defense out of position. He is on a lot of folks s*** list...good thing we won!

Hmmm, where I live it's pretty much all Americans on the bandwagon, with a few paddys mixed in.

Good news for Houston as they go to face DC. United's keeper was sent off in the last game for pulling down a man in goal scoring position. He will miss the next game of course, but he also ran his mouth on twitter right after the game, so I wouldn't be surprise pd if he gets a little extra attention from the disciplinary office.

FYI, the lower seed has apparently advanced in each round... May that trend continue, until the final!

    Halfway there, Lukey!

If Houston makes it to MLS Cup and faces the Galaxy, you are welcome to crash here... The offer's out for you.

I'm headed up to Seattle next weekend for the away leg...

Looks like he's trying to jab the corner flag up where the sun don't shine.

Amazing result for LA last night, getting the job done. Dynamo finally managed to get a foothold in the game after HT and found 3 goals. DC probably didn't deserve to lose 3-1 and struggled with a lot of injury problems. I'd say this tie is far from over, especially with our record of 1 win in the last 16 away games. Hopefully we can do the usual Dynamo play-off game plan and defend for 90 minutes to scrape through.

We will watch the Eastern Conf game at 1pm in the pub, then make our way to the Sounders ground pictured above for a 6pm kickoff.

Here is to success for the Dynamo and Galaxy!

    Bad news: G's lost tonight.
Good news: Seattle fails to score enough to advance.

MLS Cup at LA, Dec 1!

Beautiful end to the season. Should be a much closer game this year with Dynamo having a fit roster to choose from - except possibly Ricardo Clark.

As the season draws to a close, before MLS Cup every year, the league commissioner makes a State of the League address.

Below are various reports on the annual MLS state of the league teleconference
Shame it wasn't live streamed like in previous years though!

all in one (Brian Strauss/The Sporting News)

    all in one (Steven Goff)

all in one (Soccer by Ives)

MLS Expansion (Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Minneapolis)

Donovan & Beckham (past, present, future)

Stadiums and Relaunches (Revs, TFC, DC United and the disgusting goats)

Will be trying to find a place to watch this game today, along with the one MLS fan I have found up here, not extremely hopeful though

Should be able to watch the majority of the game, but sadly have to go to work later this afternoon so I'll miss the end and the Dynamo celebration party!

1-0 Dynamo at HT. Too bad I've got to go to work now. Time to start pressing my nose.

Good away support, about double last years attendance in Orange.
The HouDy goal looked offside from my perspective but a friend I trust called and told me it was just a well timed run...good for Houston. I guess...

The ref was dreadful, and his makeup calls were super awkward.

Still, the good guys finish on top, Omar is the MVP, the true MVP of the season, and hopefully next year we see Kaka in a Galaxy shirt with 4 Scudetto on the breast.

    Happy off season!

    Well done Galaxy, congratulations Fitz!

So Kaka, really? HE hasn't played for something like 4 years has he? I completely forgot he was still playing. I would have thought Lampard would have been a better bet but I suppose getting Kaka means you could attract all that 'new' Brazilian money that is around now.

I would imagine the 'caps will sign another ageing Championship player over the off season. Perhaps John Eustace would be a good fit!

Bet the "Red Car" got a bashing last night, I hope your head is OK this morning ;) Merry Christmas :xmascheesy:

    Thanks Matt and Jimbo!

Red Car was full of celebrating Galaxy fans, and the whole restaurant cheered the goals on the highlights shown on the tv's later. Good times!

Yeah, Kaka has been hidden away on the bench for quite a while now. Lampard is a decent player, and he may also come if the Galaxy lose Donovan, too. However, Lampard's crime is he isn't Hispanic...English style is not exciting to the almighty Hispanic demo. They will pay to see Kaka, but not Frank. This is all speculation, but I am more and more sure that it will be Kaka when all is said and done.

Speaking of all being said and done:

Is Omar in the last year of his contract, have heard rumors

  30. Fitz

    Fitz Squad Player

He was drafted in '09 and got a four year contract. I think the whispers are about MLS selling him abroad. My guess is there is interest but that MLS wants more for him than what foreign teams are willing to pay... Same problem guys like Chris Wondoloski and possibly Landon Donovan will have, should he decide to leave for Europe for good. They are more valuable to MLS than they are abroad...

Speaking of San Jose's Wondoloski, he was here in LA for the game since he is the MVP, Golden Boot winner and a member of the MLS Best XI homered at half time. A couple of my compadres got this photo with him...he is the one on the right with the sad face holding the LARS scarf:

Let me roll back in the thread to see my frame of mind... I will say I reserved the weekend of Dec 1 for MLS Cup back in March 2012, so I kind of believed a little bit, but when Omar went out and the season started with those awful Brazilian center backs, I saw the dream fading away...
