Hour long interview with him tonight on 5live. https://mobile.twitter.com/bbctms/status/1445381001606275076
Stokes likely to miss the ashes tour....if it goes ahead... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/58826131
17 man squad. Buttler is in , no Stokes. All capped players. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/58855661
We're going to get battered aren't we? Should we have a poll on what we think England's highest opening stand will be? If we get one over 50 I'll be amazed.
I think the challenge will be to see if we can take any of the test matches into the fifth day. I guess our best chance will be if Aus bat first and take 2 full days to score 700+.
How fully fit will Broad be? One thing to be fit but another to be fully ready to bowl in tough hot conditions down under . Mark Wood is bound to break down at some point too.
Not entirely convinced if I was negotiating for my life I'd want Woakes on my side: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/58874150 Basically, all the England players are gagging to go and are just trying to get the very best conditions they can out of the Aussies. Not quite sure why his two brain cells thought now was the moment to announce that rather than waiting until the final deal was signed. I imagine Cricket Australia will read that, say 'thanks very much' and tell the ECB their present offer is final.
Final test v India to be played in July next year . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59011364 Not sure why they cannot just play it at Old Trafford? Must be a clash of fixtures ? Least OT are getting a test v South Africa .
Ben Stokes in the Ashes squad. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59022351 Might be more competitive then !
Decent start by Scotland chasing 191 to win vs Afghanistan. 28 for 0 off 3.1 overs. However the next 3.2 overs, 10 more runs for 6 wickets ......!!
According to this article, not only did he break his finger, but he was also deeply depressed. He doesn't seem to talk about it directly, but indirectly mentions the heavy thoughts. I'm glad he's back in the game, I hope my favorite team can now count on wonderful wins! And I think Ben Stokes will turn up the heat on the game after his forced hiatus.
If you missed the Jos Buttler show here are some highlights. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59104476
For me, they made a big deal out of this scandal. It seems as if the pampered girls were offended. The article says that Nike and other sponsors have refused to cooperate. Temporarily, I guess.
Michael Vaughan in trouble now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59177667 Good, he's a bit of a ******.
If I’ve understood this correctly, England could be bowled out for about 120, still win their group and see Australia knocked out by South Africa.
yes I think that’s it. We need 80 odd to get through and something like 103 to top the group. South Africa need to restrict us to under 132ish. At the moment we’re making hard work of it!
