Boxing is up on a bit of a boom in Britain, I haven't seen a general thread for it so I thought I'd make one for current Boxing events, news and fights along with a bit of an update on myself.

Some of you know I've got a YT channel re boxing and I've recently started interviewing now for Boxing News TV, I'd appreciate your support if you like boxing/the content through a like or subscribing to the channel as that would be great.

I'll put down one my interviews below which includes an up and coming talent and those supporting him from Fury's camp:

As a topic to get the ball rolling on the Boxing thread, I'd like to know from you guys:

    1. Your current favourite boxer
    2. Your all time favourite boxer
    3. One to watch
    4. Favourite fight you've seen in person/TV or Youtube

    Mine are:

    1. GGG (Might change soon)
    2. Ali (boring choice of course)
    3. Shabaz Masoud
    4. Gatti V Ward 1 on Youtube

No takers on my last post, but any interest from you guys in AJ v Ruiz 2?

AJ well beaten. Hard to see where he goes from here. Usyk will effortlessly beat him every time.

That's what everyone said after the first Ruiz fight. Don't think it's at all that black and white, it rarely is in boxing, although Usyk is a different proposition to Ruiz.

Joshua absolutely has to get away and move on from Rob McCracken. The tactics tonight were absolutely laughable. He clearly went into camp and sent him out with the goal to try to outbox a vastly and clearly superior technical boxer. He's tried to turn Joshua into something he's not and in doing so has taken away the things that got Joshua to where he is in the first place.

Joshua is a destroyer. A big, powerful unit who fights a very aggressive style, bullies people physically, hurts them and gets the job done early. That's what he's built for and that's what he's best at. McCracken seems to have purposely tried to move away from that the past two or three years and it's made him a worse, less effective fighter, not a better one.

Fighters used to be scared of Joshua because they knew he was a big, nasty, hurtful c*nt who wanted to take your head off your shoulders. What did Usyk have to be scared of tonight when Joshua walks out at 17 stone 2 and goes out there and tries to box with him? It's mental. Usyk is a small heavyweight, take advantage of that, don't go out there and fight his fight for f**k sake. Derek f**king Chisora caused Usyk problems because he used his strength and size and tried to bully him, with some success, because Usyk isn't physically a natural heavyweight.

If he wants those belts back he needs to bring back the old Joshua. F**k McCracken off, don't try and "box" the boxer, come in heavy, come in strong, come in aggressive, impose yourself physically and go out there to smash Usyk's head in.

Yep I agree with a lot of this.

He needs a new trainer and a new strategy or he may as well retire.

My feeling is usyk is just the better boxer and beats him 9 times in 10, but it was like Joshua hardly threw a power punch all night. Joshua’s only advantage was his reach and power and he used neither.

It didn't look like there was much of a game plan to me and as a world champion he should be taking some ownership over his game. He seemed utterly one dimensional and incapable of thinking he should have a plan B.

    A bit like munoz.

I agree, McCracken is a very negative coach/trainer.

I knew Karl Froch and his family from his early days and I remember Karl's mum actually saying to me "He'll be world champion one day" as we sat in his mum's pub one morning and Karl had a broom in his hand, sweeping up. It became a constant gripe from those around him how MacCracken would coach Karl to hold back and defend and "box" rather than get stuck in. I went to a lot of his early fights and we would constantly be frustrated at his lacklustre/negative performances, even when he won, and it ws reckoned that this negative style cost him many US $ millions, as he was boring. Karl was dead keen on him though, and the fact that he did reach the top is justification, in his eyes.

Love AJ but he is not a great boxer - he really isn’t. He was totally outclassed last night, and never looked like winning. AJ has power & will knock out fighters that stand in front of him, but he has struggled against elusive opponents. I felt a bit sorry for him last night, he was comprehensively beaten. Fury is the best boxer out there, and he would easily beat AJ. The only thing Tyson needs to be careful with is his attitude and he making sure he doesn’t get too arrogant- he could lose to Wilder who is much the inferior boxer, but can land the knock out if TF isn’t focused.

Usyk is a superior technical boxer to Fury.

Still think Joshua's strengths match up far better to Fury than they do to someone like Usyk. It always makes me laugh when people say stuff like "imagine what Fury would have done to him then!" when in reality it's a completely nonsensical thing to say, because that's not how boxing works. At all. It's an old cliche but styles make fights, it isn't always about who's "better" who or who has beaten someone that the other person lost to etc.

Joshua massively struggles with smaller fighters who fight from underneath him and cannot deal with hand speed because his head movement is poor. Almost all of his poor performances have come against "small" heavyweights. Usyk was a nightmare because he was constantly in and out, always moving and throwing shots that Joshua just wasn't able to react to. Fury is obviously a far bigger target than someone like Usyk for a start, doesn't carry the same hand speed and as good as he is doesn't move anywhere near as well.

Also, for all the relentless arse licking of Fury, what has he really done himself? Don't get me wrong, he's clearly very good, but he's beaten Klitschko six years ago and he's beaten Wilder. That is literally it. Why people make him out to be some sort of boxing god on the back of that I have absolutely no idea. Beating Wilder isn't even impressive. Wilder is one of the biggest frauds in heavyweight history. A fundamentally terrible boxer who held the WBC belt hostage for years by knocking out lowly ranked hand picked bum after lowly ranked hand picked bum. The only person he's beat himself is a 41 year old Luis Ortiz who was beaten him in both fights before Wilder managed to fire out his one and only party trick and put the old man to sleep.

Whilst Usyks performance last night was good, let’s not forget he could barely beat Derek Chisora and is a blown up welter weight. Any top level heavyweight would be able to deal with different styles, he had a big weight/size advantage but was shown to be what he is, very average. Lovely guy with an A1 attitude yes, great boxer no. Reminds me very much of a Frank Bruno type fighter, very strong and will will smash lots of boxer but gets found out when he boxes anyone with class. What on earth was AJ doing on the walk to the ring last night, it was embarrassing. As for Fury his biggest issue is his arrogance, but he is a vastly superior boxer. He totally outclassed Wilder in his own backyard, but apparently know Wilder is poor. He also barely took a punch from Klitschio when he beat him. I hope Fury loses against Wilder in his next fight because I don’t like him, but that doesn’t change the fact for me that he is a better boxer than AJ

AJ is hugely overrated and not really fought anyone of real calibrate for years which was so on show last night. I predicted a Usyk win purely on the principle that I knew he would outbox AJ and go the distance. I was surprised how one sided a contest it was really. I also think that a trilogy with Wilder is the worst thing that could happen to Fury, I just don’t think his heart is in this one, probably through boredom, and I think Wilder will win this one. Hopefully if Fury can beat Wilder yet again I hope he gets a shot at Usyk/AJ rematch winner as this will be the last opportunity we will ever see a Fury/AJ match i fear

Cruiserweight, not welterweight. He's still a 6 foot 3, 16 stone man. You sound like you don't really know much about Usyk and what he's all about or what he's achieved. He is arguably the best technical boxer alive, in any weight class. It's definitely not as easy as just adapting to him and his "style" because he is phenomenal, and clearly raised his game significantly for Joshua last night. Chisora had more success because he fought a reasonably smart fight and used his physical advantage, something Joshua should have leaned far more heavily into. Instead he came in light, tried to box with him and unsurprisingly got picked apart.

Wilder isn't poor "now", he's always been poor. A lot of people have been on his back since well before the Fury fights and I've been saying it for about 5 years. Like I said, a fundamentally terrible boxer with a big right hand that he's managed to trick people who don't really understand boxing with by knocking out handpicked losers and avoiding any real challengers, until he thought a fat, ring rusted, unfit Fury would be easy pickings, and still had to get the judges to rig a draw for him. His career has been the equivalent of Man City playing League One sides in every match. He's a joke.

Yes think you may be right with Fury. Wilder will be desperate to win as he was humiliated last time and may see this as his last chance. If Fury does get over confident he is likely to get caught by Wilder. In the rematch AJ needs to go all out for the knockout, there is no way he will outbox Usyk

    Agree with all this .
AJ , IMO, should have tried to turn this into a brawl.
As you should never try and outbox a boxer

It withstood Joshua's, and the one thing no sane person can deny is that Joshua hits harder than Fury.

Be more about the frequency that Fury could land.

Great win. A quite day for the Fury haters, who must surely begrudgingly realise, he is the best heavyweight out there.

There are two other boxing threads which you could have posted in that wouldn’t have spoiled the result for those who weren’t expecting to see a ‘Fury wins’ thread title and didn’t stay up til 5am to watch and intended to watch this morning.

But let’s be honest, you never admit making a mistake so there’s little point in debating with you. I’d actually respect you if you said you did it deliberately but you won’t do that either.

I am not a 'Fury hater', but always had Joshua pegged as number one. However, no one can dispute Fury is the best in the world currently. No doubt.

He really is something special. Still don't rate Wilder, personally, I think Dillian Whyte gives Fury problems and I still think Joshua can put Fury away IF he stops pi$$ing around in the ring and starts showing some aggression again. If he boxes Fury like he has since losing to Ruiz then Fury will maul him.

I've said before on another thread that Joshua needs to come out all guns blazing against Fury and push him back.

Anyway, doesn't matter currently. Joshua has to beat Usyk which won't happen unless he comes out with the strategy he should've come out with last time.

Fury is a good technical boxer who can brawl if he has to and as you say is number 1 by some distance
What is also interesting is his physique , for example he is not ripped like other heavyweights he carries a bit of timber.
Some others seem to have forgotten that it is a boxing match and not a Mr Universe\Body Beautiful competition
