The AZ jab left me with a lot more arm pain for some reason than the flu jab I get every year . Different length/gauge of needle perhaps?

Maybe inexperienced jabber? A work colleague is on high dose antibiotics having developed an infection at the injection site which her GP says was caused by where and how it was injected.

    No.
The immune response is different between individuals and across sexes and depends on age and many other factors. People also experience symptoms subjectively
Absence of a lot of symptoms doesn't correlate with a low immune response.
    The Immune system is complex

The good news if you had any symptoms you are very probably immune. If you don't and have had the vaccine you are very probably immune

Had 2nd AZ jab yesterday midday. Woke with cracking headache at 3am but paracetamol then and again this morning seems to have nailed it.
Was worse after the first jab when I had a few days of flu-like symptoms probably due to having had covid before.

Many people get tenses over having covid jabs.

We had our second AZ vaccination on Saturday. One of us no reaction other than sore arm. The other woke in middle of night with racing heart rate (120 BPM) which lasted 3 to 4 hours and in the morning felt very breathless and unwell. 24 hours later right as rain. Reported the side effects on Yellow card website. Might be related to other prescription medicines taken.

Anyway the breathlessness and tight chest was quite upsetting. Just a small taste of what a severe Covid infection must be like.

Has made us a little more wary of accepting an AZ booster if such a thing comes about.

Are the multiple personalities a side effect of the vaccine?

Had my 2nd AZ jab on Thursday, sore arm till Saturday. Felt very unmotivated on Friday and had to go for a nap at lunch-time which is very unlike me. Was right as rain on Saturday though.

Got my first jab on Friday. Everyone i've spoken to, bar a few, have all had flu like symptoms for a few days. Good job i've got the time booked off work until the 12th.

Got my 2nd jab on Thursday. Felt ropey for a couple of days after the 1st jab. Did have C-19 in December, if anything felt worse after 1st jab. Under 40 too so hope to avoid the worst!

How have you managed to get your second jab five days earlier than me (and that was brought forward) when you are at least 15 years younger?

I had the same 6 days after my first AZ jab. Until then I hadn't had a migraine since the day we buggered up the Championship against Sheffield Weds!

That’s terrible planning ! Ruining weekend and holiday time feeling rough ? Best to get the jab on a Monday of a working week and then take 2 days as sick.

Never had a day off sick in 35 years. So re-arranged weekday appointment for Saturday just in case. Mind you i have fully repainted the house during lockdown. A wondrous thing “working” from home

Yes several traditional weekend chores don't seem to have been required at the weekend for the last year or so. The grass is a lot shorter than it was at 1pm today and there may be a little potting compost on the kitchen floor.....

I had my second dose on Saturday morning, no side effects. My first gave me a 24 hour splitting headache.

First one up for me in an hour's time. It's all very exciting - a trip to a new place, then not knowing what vaccine I'll get or the possible side effects.

@UEA_Hornet All the best. Hope it goes well. I’ve had both and had no side-effects at all, only an overwhelming urge to sit by the Mediterranean lol
