Most older hornets will already know this and I would imagine a lot of you youngsters will to. It's based on the theme tune from an old John Wayne Western, and goes like this: -

"My girl she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon, she wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May, and when I asked her why she wore that ribbon she said for Watford FC 'cause their going to Wembley, Wembleeey, Wembleeey, were the famous Watford FC and we're going to Wembley"

BACK TO THE START AND REPEAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!

For those of you who don't know the tune, I'm pretty sure you could find the original film theme tune on something like You Tube, but I'll also try and get it started in the Watford Fan Zone before the match, it's easy to pick up.

Actually people have been talking over the years about a club song, maybe the actual unchanged theme song to that film could fit the bill, I think it is called "She wore a yellow Ribbon", but can someone correct me if I am wrong.

    Tell your mum your mum
To put the champagne on ice
    We're going to Wembley twice
    Tell your mum your mum

Oh hang on, it's 3 times now. That doesn't work.

Edit: Or change the 3rd line to "We're going to Wembley thrice".

As long as we’re doing obscure FA Cup-based chants, how about this one:

Que sera sera, whatever will be will be
    We’re going to Wembley
    Que sera sera

"When Troy Steps Up To Lift The FA. Cup, We'll Be There, We'll Be There".

I take your word for that, but I'm sure I remember the Dixy Hale song after he got into trouble with Furph for drinking the night before the match.

Disappointing. Thought this was going to be about the squad releasing a song 80's style.

"Ken Sema's going to Wembley. His knees have gone all trembly. Come on you Horns. Come on you Horns"

Yep, I remember that that as well!
Maybe my memory is playing tricks, I remember both sets of words pertaining to Dixie Hale. Just don't remember the Rodney Green one.
    Sign I'm getting old.

    Fossie’s going to Wembley
His knees have gone all trembly
    He’s let in six
    Between the sticks.

    Redundant if Gomes plays.

Maybe we can do what Hull did a few years back and change the words to 'stung by the hornets'. We can all turn around and wriggle are bums.

    Replace ‘Fossie’ with ‘Gomie’?

    That seems to work.

Anyway, passable rhymes available for 7 to 11.

‘Twelve... delve’ might be pushing it.

Of course we can dream. It's the job of all fans to dream. I'm dreaming we only lose by 2 goals and finish with 11 men on the pitch. Silly I know.
