I agree with that (Aidy for one is never going to come out and blast a player too often!) but to me he did not show much public support in the 2 strikers on the bench at least on Saturday IMO.

hmm fair point, fact that pissed me off the most about saturday was him waiting until 88mins to throw on an extra attacker into a huge game which we'd been losing 2-0 since 75.
Translation: "Our midfield is rubbish. I will play Stevey K and Ellington up front and finally drop Henderson from a tall building. He won't feel anything but he may get the idea. Hopefully we can scrape through the next month or so and get into the Premiership when I can buy some CMs who contribute something to the game occasionally." I hope.
