Interesting insight from their owner Darragh MacAnthony on Instagram: “To answer everybody asking about a player transfer request.” Views from the Posh fans:- No surprise. His form before games ended suggested he had been tapped up. Be fine with him going tbh. Too patchy and another Maddison in as much as he's been a waste of time once the clocks go back. Unplayable when he's in the mood, otherwise meh and not good for the team. Never really felt he was commited to being here anyway. Legit personal circumstances with this one I'm led to believe. Providing we get a fair price then I think this one is for the best for both club and player. There's no point in keeping a player that doesn't want to be here.
He's certainly not as good as Toney. He's also a bit more of a second striker, or wide-forward. Another one of those is a bit less of an urgent need for us now we've signed Zinckernagel. Hasn't it been mentioned that his contract expires in the summer? Certainly seems as if he'll be leaving in Jan.
Just what we need a striker that has only got a marginally better goal scoring record in the league below than the donkeys we have up front currently. 5 from 25 last season and 5 from 38 the season before in league one, sign him up Gino!
Few rumours saying he’s likely to go to Celtic or Rangers as he wants to go back to Scotland for personal reasons.
It’s probably fairer to compare his goal ratio/record to someone like Sarr in terms of where they play.
Although Transfermarkt has his contract expiring this year, there seems to be a bit of a question of whether that’s the case (see this local news article from October). If his contract runs to 2022 I can’t see us stumping up the required cash. Untrue. He was a guest of Deeney at the Arsenal game last year. If he doesn't come here, it's because we didn't want him.

"Dembele is a wanted man going into this summer. Watford, Bournemouth and Brentford are believed to be ‘big admirers’ of him, as reported by The Sun in January." No more recent than when this thread was originally made. Would have made sense for the Champ, not so sure for the Prem.

Indeed. Not sure exactly why Posh fans are happy to see him go (maybe that's just due his refusal to sign a new contract), but he's quite impressive from what I've seen him. He looks quick & is a proper box of tricks. He's very two-footed. It's actually hard to tell which foot he favours (right, I think? Could be wrong). So he's got that going for him at least. I know it a big jump from L1 to Prem, but he's not without ability.
