If we keep hold of Pedro and Cucho we could have quite a good forward line. I agree that Pedro could be very good next season, and there is no reason Cucho can not bag a fair few in the division below. Fletcher is backup at best. In the unlikely circumstance we keep King, I would lump him in backup quite honestl. Champ may be his level but he has done nothing this season to really stamp his name for a sure starting place next season (if he does stay). What I worry most about is our midfield, with no Sarr, Sissoko, Dennis we are going to have to scramble a few new faces. It all depends on the system Edwards wants to play of course.

Stop giving it yammer. You are a tin pot club with an average gate of about 2,500. There isn't a chance you will ever over take Watford. You will have to get within the top two tiers of English football for that and that is never going to happen.

Everyone agrees he's a really great guy and loved by his players. Some clearly want to have his babies.
The question remains "Is he any good?".
We will find out when we lose or draw a couple of games at the start of next season.

Didn't you get knocked out of the cup by St Albans last time? Come on man my mate plays for them he gets 30 quid a game which often contribues to a saturday night bag and he goes out on the sesh at least 3 nights a week.

We are **** but in comparison to FGR we aren't. We are also not **** compared to The Red Lion. We are never going to fall to a level where Forest Green Rovers are overtaking us.

Our midfield without Sissoko Sarr etc has improved with Harry the hornet starting.

That seems very much like tempting fate to me. Sunderland, a much bigger club than us, were a PL club five years ago and will be playing in the same division as FGR next year if they don't win the playoffs.

When we got promoted to the Premier League in 14/15, the scum had only just clawed their way back into the Football League, now they could overtake us in the next two weeks...

Well there is a slim chance of it happening but if anyone thinks there is anything other that a tiny chance of Forest Green Rovers overtaking us then they are daft. I would probably say fair enough for most clubs but Forest Green Rovers are a bit of a joke club.

Dont see it happening again football isn't the same now as the mid 90s.

People can debate all they like but I doubt very much it will happen.

I think it's great that we gave had the input from two Forest Green Rovers fans.

They could be gloryhunters but like us they support their local side. More power to anyone that does that than jump onto the next glamorous side funded by dubious sources. While we ourselves look with askance at how the so called big clubs perceive us often with barely disguised derision let's not apply that same needless haughtiness to Forest Green Rovers.

Our anger needs to be directed to the idiots running our club. Time will tell namely by the end of the summer window and the first ten fixtures whether or not these idiots have really changed tack or as is most likely trying to hoodwink us with empty words.

It’s not just about how good FGR are. It’s also down to how **** we are.

it’s perfectly possible to tumble down the leagues. Look at Oldham, Wigan, Pompey.

I certainly hope it doesn’t happen, and I’m not predicting it will, but it’s not wholly implausible, I would never say never.

All very well but our magnificent owner has landed us in £150+ million debt with a squad with only a smattering of players with any transfer value. Our non premier league revenues are hardly going to save us. We are tinpot as the next man.

    Appreciate that, thank you.

In reality, FGR will be no where near Watford long term. All FGR fans know that!

Been supporting them for 20 years () & L1 is likely the highest we'll ever go.

We're very used to the tinpot etc, but we've turned a small profit 3 seasons in a row with annual revenue streams similar to Sissokos quarterly wage - & are in the 3rd tier of English football - not too bad! Fortunately we have no debt & own our stadium

Genuinely do wish Watford all the best for the future & hope Rob gets you back to the PL. I was at the Vic for the Brentford game, one of the best atmospheres I've seen in England!

Sooo I hadn’t looked at any photos of him before today. I am now very optimistic that my attendance at games will be 100% while he’s in charge, regardless of what’s happening on the pitch. Also thinking of changing my seat. On an entirely separate matter, which seats have the best view of the dugout (asking for a friend)?

Except that manager spent four years at his club before getting promotion, and then came back to that division with us.

So I don’t see the parallel. Graham Taylor had learnt his craft at Lincoln, and knew the fouth division, before launching our charge to the top.

For Edwards he has not that much experience as a league manger, and has never operated as a manger at the league level we will be competing at. So he will be learning the division as we go along. I think a better comparison are the Boothroyd and Rogers appointments.

Yet he has managed in the England system at 2 age groups and has been a First Team Coach at PL level.

I don’t think the risk is quite as big as many make out. I’d sooner someone like Edwards who has cut his teeth properly than someone like Lampard who jet-packed his way in unprepared.

Mid 90s? Wimbledon were elected to join the league in 1978, reached the top division by 1986 and peaked with their FA Cup win in 1988.
