I thought that too but the DM are reporting that they will get it tomorrow which I find strange if true considering they still have to play Sunderland at home on the last day.

We beat Swansea a month ago, a win that meant we hit 40 points but were not mathematically safe from relegation. Lose four in a row and end up going into tonight's rearranged fixture with Chelsea mathematically safe. Just a point to consider next April when we hit 40 points with 6 games to go.

 

41 is the new 40.

 

The fact that there is a MOTD special this evening suggest to me that the trophy will be awarded before or after the game tonight

 

It's being given to them on Sunday.

 

I couldn’t see why this thread was still being updated as relegation in now decided, but I see it has now changed to when the trophy will be presented to the champions.

Should the title be changed so we know what is being discussed?

 

In much the same way that long serving employees get given a carriage clock when they retire, I thought the title of the thread related to anyone who read all 51 pages being presented with a relegation watch.

 

May I suggest that the presentation takes place at 8pm and lasts for 45 minutes in the first instance. There is then a 15 minute interlude for refreshments and half and half replica trophy purchasing and then a further 45 minutes of ceremony.

During the time,with the whole Chelsea squad receiving their trinkets and life size cut outs of Martin Tyler,we may be able to find a formation that will prevent us scoring an own goal.

We can then leave West London with a glorious point and Nutty Walt can claim he is the reincarnation of Rinus Michels.

 

We can now breath easy...we are safe. I suspect Gino and his gang are now having some serious meetings about next season. Not that they werent before but now its 100% sorted they can put into action their plans. as for this season I suppose job done but its been a tough watch at times..with another 2 tough watches to come..I am left with just wanting to see a goal.

Hornet Boy 1. Please please look at the table. If we had to win a couple of games in the last 6 to get to 40 points then your argument would stand true. Unfortunately we will have just sunk to what ever position we end up this season and we will probably still be 6 points clear of Hull. Spin it whatever way you want but there was no battle.

To be in a battle you have to fight, so I agree with you. There was no battle from Watford whatsoever.

 

So, guess we can wrap this thread up now - looks like the majority of Watford fans called it correctly a while back about being safe.
